Looking Back at THE LAST OF US: Adam Sessler Interviews Naughty Dog at PAX Prime 2013

Adam got the chance to speak with Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley at PAX Prime this year, for a brief post-mortem look at The Last of Us. Watch as they talk about the development hurdles faced during production, how they approached Sony with the idea, and what it's like working on such a grim, post-apocalyptic world. (Bruce Straley, Neil Druckmann, PS3, The Last Of Us)

I like when they talk about the risks of having a young female character. Honestly ever since it was released the amount of hype generated for that alone. People wanted to explore a dark gritty universe with a younger character because of the difficult situations that one can come across if they were put in their shoes. The way they tackle narrative is just like no other developer out their and really makes them on of the best developers this Gen. Whats amazing is that the more games they release the more they learn and the greater their next product will be. Ps4 game will truly be amazing.

sometimes i sit at home thinking about last of us. I WANT TO JUST PLAY AGAIN TO ENJOY THAT WORLD. it almost as if that world really existed. and i beleive ellie and joel are real etc. just mad. game is absolute splendour.

Amazing gameplay style.
amazing story
amazing characters
amazingly weird music (to me) but fit the game soo well. that only naughty dog worked had impose that soundtrack. never in my mind would i go to youtube to hear the soundtrack and i found me self doing just that.

amazing.

plus it took me 19 hours to finish, and uncharteds take me roughly 10 to 13 hours. bang for buck

DONT SPOIL YOURSELVES GUYS DONT WATCH VIDEO IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED IT. ITS WELL WORTH PLAYING IF YOUR A GAMER.

I like Joels character but Ellie man she is just the star of the game for me. She's so well crafted as a "teen". What I love about her is that she's such a bad Ass but yet fragile. That whole game felt human and tackle the narrative in a realistic Approach. I can bet that most of the decisions that Joel made I should of made myself if I was put under that situation.

Great to see how Sony was supportive, but ND knows how to do quality games. If I was a Sony exec and ND wanted to do a game about poop, I'd just give them my money
