Deep Silver: Saints Row 4 sales 'continue to be very strong'

GameZone writes, "Deep Silver has done a remarkable job promoting and marketing Saints Row 4. And apparently, it's paying off. A month after the game's release Saints Row 4 continues to sell well, according Aubrey Norris, Deep Silver's director of marketing and PR." (PC, PS3, Saints Row 4, Xbox 360)

People buying Saints Row 3.5 Aka Glorified DLC....pfffft suckers
UnHoly_One  +   392d ago
It's really a good game, don't judge a book by it's cover.

Lots of fun, especially co-op.
SlapHappyJesus  +   392d ago
Doesn't even play like the third game. I would say it's easily the most fun of the series.
Please though . . . deny yourself a fun game. Sucker.

Look it does play the same, I've played on it

It's basicaly an improved version of SR3.

"Please though . . . deny yourself a fun game. Sucker."

Oh yeah because I'm sooooo missing out, no thanks I think I'll continue to play GTAV. Continue playing your glorified DLC...cough cough sucker

Foxtrot you are the one looking like a fool here, calling people "suckers" because they are buying a game.
SlapHappyJesus  +   392d ago
If you think it plays like Saints Row 3 . . . then I can only assume you haven't actually played it. That or you are insane.
And I have no problem paying for a quality experience. Just saying. Sorry you don't feel it is one. All I can say is, based on the article above, that many disagree with that.

Ok don't be fooled by that with your fellows , it has the same animations , same gameplay , same textures , same engine , and same HUD and UI so its basically and technically not a new game from the previous game and its no doubt the same game with some add-ons

@Shinox

Thank You....someone gets it

If Capcom did something like this or EA gamers would be all over this crap. I mean they are selling you glorified DLC at full retail game price...COME ON.

@Shinox
I have never once agreed to nor denied the claim that the game could have been DLC. I denied that it felt like Saints Row 3 . . . which it does. I claimed that it is a quality release worth its cost . . . because it is.
At the end of the day, IV returns the series to the witty dialogue that was much more prevalent in the original two games. It does indeed take the original city, but puts a spin on it and allows you, through the use of the new mechanics (super powers) to traverse and interact with it in an all new way. Those super powers do indeed entirely change the feel of the games and the combat itself. Not to mention it boasts probably the best soundtrack of the series, which is a plus.
In a time of the iterative sequel - taking what was essentially the last game and throwing it in a new location - the argument of what should and should not be DLC is rather pointless. They had an entirely different vision for this game and they executed pretty damn brilliantly. If that's not worth the price of admission, well, different strokes.

I hate when people bash others because they enjoy playing a different game.

Who says I'm bashing...it's called pointing something out.
SeraphimBlade  +   392d ago
Guess people realized the franchises are apples and oranges at this point.
ElementX  +   392d ago
I think it plays a little like Crackdown and that's a good thing.

I've been so into GTA that I forgot this series even existed.

Man, can you imaging if SR stayed on the path it was on? The perfect balance between whacky gameplay and serious elements.

Who remembers when Carlos was chained to a truck in extreme pain and your character had no choice but to put him out of his misery? Loved that scene.

Imagine if it had all of that but with enhanced graphics, a bigger world, and better character customization? And imagining topping all of that off with a great story with funny and serious moments.

Man, makes me sad to think of how great the series could have been.

That's sadly what people don't see. If it continued on the SR2 path it could of been a fantastic series over time and maybe, just maybe it could end up doing stuff GTA doesn't.

SR2 was amazing and SR3 crapped all over that. They are like two totally different franchises

Completely agree and i got sr2 for free when i bought sr3 and i was like it shouldve been vice versa, sr2 i was still playing untill gta came out i sold sr3 without even beating it, god that game was pure shit, the driving mechanics were better tho thats it.

I've been playing, Grand Theft Auto V, recently. I purchased ths Special Edition, of course; however, I also purchased the "Commander in Chief" edition of Saints Row IV, yet I have not touched the game yet. I know deep down it will not surpass my love for 2 (but who knows, maybe GTA V will? I'm pretty early in to the game). Saints Row The Third didn't, though, and I personally don't think Saints Row IV will.

I'll agree that bashing on people for liking a game is dumb, but justifying that it's a good game by playing victim and claiming that you're "entitled" that your opinion is right is just as wrong, me thinks.

I do not look forward to the next installment of Saints Row, but I am so looking forward to GTA VI. Saints Row no longer caters to fans like me, but rather that of the "average" CoD player. A person who's taped every episode of Jackass, drinks Mountain Dew and likes every generic super-hero movie that comes out.

These are merely own opinions. I'm not entitled, I'm not automatically right, and I'm not playing victim. I welcome criticism; I'm just speaking my mind.
