Gameranx: "The Last of Us originally had only women as infected zombies."
Aren't they the same thing anyway?
Funny that the only non-infected people you kill are all men.
i don't think i wanna brutality choke out a women that would stir controversy to the highest form.
Sexist. Equal opportunities ;)
I wonder if anyone's going to point out how misandric that is....oh wait, no one even knows what misandry is.
Actually one of them isn't, though i'll avoid spoilers..
How is it misogynistic to have a science fiction story where a virus only affects females?
It's not. Misogynistic is just the buzz word of the moment.
I'm sick and tired of all these misogynistic related articles
I second that.
From now on i am boycotting any game that is not Misogynistic and sexist in its nature
im in on that
"From now on i am boycotting any game that is not Misogynistic and sexist in its nature" That's not hard to do...
Oh man, here we go AGAIN! Can you let the game developers create whatever they want? What's with the censorship lately? If they want to make a game about racism, violence, misogynism or any other type of outrageous belief, then let it be! In the end, people buy games they like and not the other way around! It's one thing promoting those beliefs through gaming and another creating a story around them. Even if a game is about violence, then what? I haven't seen people complaining about movies that are similar to games such as the ones that usually get criticized. I know movies that are way more disgusting than some supposedly crime/racism promoting games.
Criticism isn't censorship.
You are correct, however you have to be careful because the types of people that write these articles, given the opportunity would happily enforce their point of view upon you via government.
but criticism can lead to censorship. or where do you think that bros before hoes trophy from god of war ascension went?
"VIDEO GAMES ARE ART! BUT DON'T CRITICIZE THEM LIKE ANY OTHER ARTISTIC MEDIUM"
Omg, the stupidity of femnazi.
The concept being described isn't misogynist....at least not from any rational perspective. Pretty soon we're going to have to make sure that in all stories there's a perfectly even spread of male and female victims of a virus/terrorist attack/nuclear holocaust....if even a SINGLE female or male more are killed than the other side, it's misogyny/misandry with ZERO room for debate or rational thought. This is the attitude that the overly PC brigade seem to want to foster nowadays - forget the real examples of misogyny in the world, let's look at all the fiction and see how we can twist things in order to click bait and make a big deal out of nothing. Fuck genuine animal cruelty, lets whine about the killing of fictional animals in GTA 5, that's a good use of our time and doesn't make our cause look massively stupid or anything. A virus or illness that specifically affects women is not misogynist, unless it's a man made means of wiping women off the planet within the story. And even then, that's not necessarily misogynistic unless the person who created said virus is positioned as the good guy and someone to be celebrated. The mere featuring of a concept is not the same thing as championing it's cause. Some people attacked the movie Trainspotting when it was released, because they claimed it "glamorised" drug use....those people must have been watching a different movie than I did. Yes, drug use was heavily featured, but in the context of the story, it was NOT glamorised. Too many times nowadays is context within a story completely ignored in order to feed an agenda (such as Anita Sarkeesian and her reading of a scene in the game Prey in one of her videos)...and it needs to stop, because it does a disservice to the cause.
Woulda made for an interesting story nonetheless, the whole "how do we repopulate now?!" idea. Answer: zombie lovin
Holy crap, people are idiots. Ovarian cancer is misogynistic, because it only targets women. This sort of stupidity makes my brain hurt.
men and women are different, sometimes one cannot fit in the others place(THEY'RE NOT ALWAYS EQUAL)
