A Visual Reminder Of How Far Xbox 360 Games Have Come In Eight Years

Paul Tassi, Forbes:

I was reading today about how Ryze is going to be native 900p, and upconverted to 1080p by Microsoft MSFT +0.55%‘s Xbox One, and there was a subsequent predictable train of people decrying the system’s power and lamenting that the next generation of games “isn’t even 1080p.”

I think we’re going to see a lot of stories like this at the beginning of this new console generation, as not every game will look amazing and it won’t seem like we’re making that much of a leap forward in terms of graphical fidelity.

The story is too old to be commented.

Some of the listed games are ports from the previous generation.

Good games. Both systems is the way to go next gen. Don't want too as a single game man.

they miss the point. i don't care that ryse is native 900p. i care that ms is continuing its history of over promise - under produce. its just bad business.

Typical cowardly fanboys... 5 disagrees (at the time of my comment) with no replies backing up their disagree click.

Well im gonna disagree because you should be a gamer first. But yet I dont see you saying anything about that Killzone from 2005 we're still waiting to see. We

You miss the point of the article. Yes Ryse is now 900p, but in a few years once developers know the system a bit better they could make the game at 1080p most likely and probably have even better graphics.

GryestOfBluSkies1831d ago

nope. didnt miss that at all. todays ryse argument has nothing to do with now vs later. todays argument has everything to do with microsoft telling people that ryse runs in native 1080p yet today they confirm its upscaled. the point im making is that they lied. and thats bad business.
