Square Enix Still Interested In Bringing Final Fantasy Type-0 To The West

Speaking with US Gamer, Final Fantasy Agito producer Hajime Tabata said that the iPhone and Android game “will definitely be localized”. As previously reported, Square Enix recently filed a trademark for the game in Europe. (Final Fantasy Agito, Final Fantasy Type-0, iPhone, Mobile, PS Vita, PSP)

It'll flop if on PSP, needs to be remade for Vita to sell well. Which is a shame,it was one of the best recent Final Fantasy's I've played. Everything which made 7,8,9 and the rest good, while giving meaningful new elements.

While I would prefer a Vita version, as it would look and play better, the PSP, in the West just like in Japan, has a much bigger install base than the Vita. On one hand, people wouldn't be as interested in buying a PSP game, but on the other hand, SE would have many more potential customers by releasing it on the PSP. I think it would be for the best if they released it on both platforms.

I think PSP piracy is a factor and could eat into the legitimate sales.

"Hey, I can pirate this on my PSP.

I'd wait for the PSV to go down in price or even drop it all together." = potentially lost profit

I don't think it's better to risk on something like that.

Probably best way to avoid this is either to have a limited UMD run, no PSP digital and make native up-port of the game for the PSN VITA only and PS VITA physical cart.

Easier if it was a VITA exclusive (better if up-port) as it will also promote the system internationally.

That limited UMD run can still spread to .ISOs all over the net.

I was always surprised by how much people in the west have to beg for localizations.

They should definitely localize it because this game is awesome and everyone deserves a chance to play this.

If it does come west I'd prefer a Vita update for dual analog sticks, but I wouldn't be opposed to downloading it off of the PSN and dealing with the one joystick.

Uh, any game for the psp that has camera control rigged to whatever buttons wether it be the dpad or l&r buttons can be rigged to your second abalog stick in the psp emulator settings when you hold down the home button and press settings in the top right corner.

I would really like for them to port it to the Vita although the digital version is playable on vita a remake would be awesome but ill take what i can get

For pete's sake Squarenix if you guys don't wanna release it on the PSP just put it up as a digital release on the PSN. So that people who have a PSP can download it & also for those who has Vita's can play it as well. The game is pretty enough to hold its own on the Vita.

While you do that release Birth by Sleep & Crisis Core on the PSN. You guys released both Dissidia's, Final Fantasy Tactics WotL on the PSN why is it taking so long for the other titles?

Sony should really step in and throw some money at SE. They could have one of the best Final Fantasies on their new portable.

And this Final Fantasy is of high-quality, made for portable environment, and if coupled with a good bundle / marketing campaign, it could be a system seller. After all, the masses never knew about Type 0 being released in Japan.

With a half-decent port the new "casual" and cheaper Vita could be a beast in the US and Europe. Maybe even in Japan.
