GoodGameBro writes, "For the team working on NBA Live 14, they’re in an interesting situation. Part of the industry expects a ton from them, while the other half has completely forgotten about the series."
That's not enough to spark interest.
They better get it right. It would be pathetic to take years off from a yearly franchise and still not be able to make a solid game.
Those are the in-game graphics? Dang Live welcome back. I would like to see some actual gameplay coming though since they announced it will be out in November.
I hate pre views for sports games they are not representative of the product
I call Bullshot.
Looking good, now time for some game play.
Jury still out until we get game play footage and a demo screen shot looks good but most screen shots look good ......
This game is making a come back? oh great.. we are going to see players like Steve Nash dunk on this game and Andrew Bynum beat Ray Allen on 3pt shots. And also the dead crowd its like you're playing on a dessert. <_<
I don't mind a come back, mostly for competition's sake. But, you are absolutely correct about some of the prior failings of the Live franchise. The offensive/defensive balance was an issue. I once had a person shoot better with Shaq from the 3 pt. line than he actually shoots from the free throw line in real life. (around 40%) I hope that these things are not legacy issues that creep into this game (much like they have with some of the other EA franchises).
that looks pretty good.
Never been a big fan of b-ball games. Coach Ks on the Genesis, some of the PS NBA Lives were ok... I'd have to say my favorite was Shootout '97 made by Sony. To me that was everything a great basketball game should be. It wasn't w/o it's faults and certainly wasn't a great sim but the gameplay was spot on and everything felt great about how the game/players ran and played. Anyone making basketball games should do their homework and recreate what Shootout '97 had.
For it's time, it was a pretty great game. To me, it really had the speed and momentum of the game down. The shooting mechanics were new and fresh. About the only thing that I didn't like, and it was a common gripe at the time, was the limit to the amount of freedom you had with individual players and their respective move set. Unfortunately, they pretty much killed that franchise later on trying too hard to do too much.
exactly. Not saying a dev should copy/paste it to a T but take some notes. I think one of the biggest things that stands out to me still is the shooting mechanics and flow/speed/momentum of the game. You nailed it though. nicely put
It looks nice, but until they can make this series as fun as NHL or The Show, I'm afraid I'll have to stay away.
They said they will be releasing information all week. I assume that means gameplay by the end of the week.
NBA Live 14 needs to be good because i want my next gen NBA fix
