Killzone: Mercenary Review | OmniGamer

With two analog sticks on the PlayStation Vita, we were all promised to finally have good first-person-shooters in the handheld market. Then games such as Resistance: Burning Skies and Call of Duty: Declassified come out all looks to be lost. Now we get Killzone: Mercenary, although it leaves the games mentioned beforehand looking like a joke and is the most fun in the Killzone series, it isn't without problems and repetition. (Killzone Mercenary, PlayStation, PS Vita) 3/5

"I am not at all a fan of the Killzone franchise, but this was the only one that I found decent enough to pick back up after a few sessions"

Ummm.. why the hell should someone like that review the game? Controversy creates hits right?

I personally don't see a problem here. Games should be received by all sorts of people so that those with matching likes and dislikes know what to expect.

Being a fan of a series can influence a review just as much as not being a fan if not more.
I'm not suggesting that this is an unbiased review, I'm only saying it is not without merits and value. For someone who hasn't loved the KZ series so far, this review would be a good guard for what to expect.

Fans of the series need not read the review because the reviewer has pretty much told you from the onset that this review is not for the fans.

I agree, as long as the reviewer has played through all the games and has a good understanding of the story and universe they should be capable of delivering a decent review regardless of whether or not they are a fan.

However, I have the game, absolutely love it and refuse to click on this attention seeking load of crap.

Enjoying the game. Worth buying, playing.

Why is this game getting so many 6/10s? A decent single player and an almost flawless multiplayer (the spawns are terrible) make this game at least an 8/10 for me.

(only have spawn problems on the "free for all mode", but I expected it already, you spawn and there are 7 enemies around the map, sometimes shit will happen...)

Anyway, addicted to the Warzone mode. This game made order a Vita grip, never played a handheld game that hooked me so much.

8/10 with console comparison, as a handheld only, I would say 9-10/10

It happens to me in every game mode, but it isn't so frequent in Warzone or the TDM gametype.

Warzone is amazing!

Multiplayer only I'd give it a 9-10/10 but taking the single player into account (it's fun but short with nothing too spectacular) I'd give it anywhere from 8-9/10.
