The Best PS3 Games of the Generation: Grand Theft Auto IV

With the release of GTA V on the horizen PSU looks back at another game of the generation, Grand Theft Auto IV.

Grand Theft Auto has become a universal name in media. Rockstar Games has not only created one of the most successful gaming franchises, but also the most controversial. Starting out as a top down open world game, it's popularity peaked with the release of Grand Theft Auto III. Moving away from the top down perspective and into a third person open world game, Grand Theft Auto III showed just how far video games have come and how Rockstar is continues to push the limits of video games. (Grand Theft Auto IV, PS3, Rockstar Games)

Oh god no. GTA IV was just so limited and dull. Amazingly huge and detailed city, but NOTHING interesting to do in it. The story was pretty forgettable, as were most of the characters. GTA V really looks to just blow IV out of the water badly. I wouldn't even put GTA IV on my list of games that should be played from this gen, it was just too boring.

gta 4 isn't even in the top 50 games of this gen. 5 looks to be, but 4 no way.
