Will we have to wait another 5 years for GTA 6?

Will we have to wait another 5 years before see Grand Theft Auto 6 is released? We analyse what reasons have potentially caused Rockstar to take the amount of time they have between GTA IV and GTA V, and whether we can expect to see this long wait again after Grand Theft Auto V finally comes out.

Hopefully not seeing as the new consoles are easier to develop for. Bearing in mind we will probably have a new Red Dead game before GTA6, so it might be a while. I think 6 years is a little excessive though. I'd say 4-5.

Love to see another Red Dead. I dont think Rockstar are going to make sequel to Bully, but hopefully I'm wrong.

R* should keep on going updates and DLC's for GTA5, while we waiting for GTA6.. Maybe even some new little islands and new female character (not like its a must, just giving ideas)... I would buy that!

Almost definitely. Rockstar will be working on all their other franchises after this and perhaps some new ones too (Agent).

I still think GTA V should've been a PS4 / XboxOne launch title, especially given how some of the recent leaked in game screenshots look kind of bad if I'm honest (at least compared to all the promotional stuff).

No, my point is it shouldn't have been a ps3 / x360 game at all. There is the issue that as a next gen launch title it wouldn't sell very well, but I'm sure people would've bought ps4s and X1s JUST for this game. The install base would fill up pretty quickly.

Do you really think Rockstar would sacrifice a huge install base of customers on current consoles in favor of the relative few people who will have a next gen system at launch? With the amount of money they've spent in development and marketing they need to sell as many as they can, which means selling first on current gen, then in 6 months or so on next gen.

I don't know what sort of graphics whore you are but I've watched a lot of quality vids on youtube of GTA 5 an it looks visually pleasing. And what's more is the gameplay looks amazing.

Gameplay>graphics all day long. Sometimes I still play Diablo 2 an it's graphics are poor but the gameplay is freaking awesome an that's what matters.

Oh trust me I know how graphics mean nothing without all the other departments also being good. My problem is chiefly with the false advertisement that's clearly happened here. All those trailers and screens were clearly doctored.

I'm content waiting if we do. We'll surely get another Red Dead before then and it will be amazing. I'd also like to see them remake The Warriors. I can dream, can't I?

I'm thinking they will release a downloaded for the ps4 & x1 by June next year. Discounted id say. It'll boost the sales of both systems and the heat will have cooled down from those who will be getting a copy in the coming few days. It may well not be a better quality version & just be a port but they'd be silly not too I think. $$$$

Well after the next GTA which I'm assuming they will be using Vice City. I hope they decide to make a completely new city like a Midwest Rustbelt city that is like a mixture of Detroit and Chicago.

I kind of like the fact they do not deliver these games so close together. I mean look at all the hype this game has got. You don't see that happen for a lot of games that have annual and bi-annual releases. I can honestly see two things the next time GTA comes out:
1. GTA 6 on such a large scale that it will be like sky rim
2. A GTA MMO basically the evolution of GTA Online

Bit of a crazy release really with the next generation consoles only eight weeks from being released all my cash as gone into my savings I have pre-ordered 3 Ps4's & an Xbox One for my family my children & partner & me I have pre-ordered a Ps4 & get Killzone & BF4 & Cod but have no money left for this game .

I dont think so...Skyrim is pretty large it could be close though, but I am taking into account all the caves etc you can enter as well.

IMO they'll be doing a red dead sequel, obviously GTA! I would like to see another manhunt game and also would like to see some information on agent!
