DeaconBlade: Good news for all of you high resolution and big screen TV fans. I’ve confirmed that at least two of the Xbox One’s launch games will be native 1080p. Forza Motorsport 5 and Ryse: Son of Rome will be native 1080p on the Xbox One.
Only achievable with X1.
Because it's only on Xbox One...?
It's good to know xbone can achieve this wich mean ps4 can do even better. Yay
OLD news .. since E3
But are they 60fps? Notice how they left that part out. heh
@thechosenone The guy asked about the resolution, not the frame rate.
Yes. Ryse and Forza 5 are BOTH 1080p/60fps. Turn10 studio’s Content Director, John Wendel announced this on Microsoft’s Xbox One’s reveal that the games would run on 1080p and 60 frames per second.
"Ryse and Forza Motorsport will be native 1080p on Xbox One" Oh golly gee wow, you dont say? we didnt know that. /s Now you're playing with Power! Blast Processing SEGA!!! I so wish other systems could do this. /s And to uninformed AndrewLB, Ryse is NOT 60fps, sorry to burst your bubble their buddy but the game doesnt even have a constant 30fps, it drops to the low 20's. Unless you're just trying to send misinformation
So far Forza is the only game on the Xbone hitting 1080p/60fps target. >Performance-wise, the target is 30fps, with v-sync engaged. http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
Apparently, this isn't true Ryse is 900p: n4g.com/news/1355991/ryse-son -of-rome-runs-at-native-900p-bu t-xbox-one-upscales-all-titles- to-1080p-clarifies-microsoft @ 24fps: http://youtu.be/VzVlVRe9QYI... It's no biggie for those who weren't overhyping "Codename Kingdoms", the Kinect game for 360... I mean "Ryse".
Is Ryse still having trouble trying to maintain at least 30 fps?
and Forza still looking like Ridge Racer?
...yup. (On both counts)
Boy....You guys troll HARD
Last gameplay i seen it looked smoother
Remember the fps test was back at e3 when the was in pre-alpha, many games have unstable frame rates early in development before it's properly optimized.
maybe, why you ask? bother yourself with drive club. it also is a careen tear festival been released not finished
Well, Forza 5 has been confirmed running months ago at 1080p in 60fps. Driveclub whom is in the same genre on the PS4 is 30fps, and hoping to be 60fps. I didn't expect Ryse to be 1080p, seeing how it is the best looking next generation console game. That is a nice surprise. Can't wait to play it!
"seeing how it is the best looking next generation console game" No The Witcher 3 looks better, and so does AC4, and The Division Just my opinion though
Cool story bro.
Killer Instinct, a fighting game is only running at 720p just to maintain 60 FPS. http://www.vg247.com/2013/0... It's really pathetic because Mortal Kombat ran at 1080p at 60 FPS and that's with old hardware but looked really good. Killer Instinct isn't even the best looking game or doesn't really look next gen on the Xbox One and it can only run at 720p. Well, it's already confirmed the PS4 is more powerful from the developers, so just stop deluding yourself. Every time I see one of your posts, it reeks of desperation and denial.
It's been confirmed that M$ has been running their games in PCs also.
If Ryse is best looking next-gen game, then you must visist a doctor, your eyes are in bad shape.
Even if Driveclub doesn't make it to 60fps, it's still not indicative of the hardware each run. Either way, Forza looks great, but Driveclub is already looking better than it was around E3. I'd say the biggest difference in the two is the development teams. This isn't Polyphony cranking out gorgeous driving sims, this is Evolution who has been making nothing but Motorstorm and WTC before that. Compare that to Turn 10 who have been doing the same thing for a decade. Prior experience makes a huge difference in these things.
Sorry but ryse does not look as good as killzone
How can a game be the best looking next generation but at the same time you didn't expect it to be 1080p?
dont you get tired of comparing forza a game using 2005 technology, against driveclub? dynamic lithning, real self shadows, day and night cycles, huge enviroments.. so of course it will have lower fps.
@lsujester: I couldn't agree more that a lot of the time, the developer has more to do with how good a game looks than minute power difference. In fact, art work impacts the game looks the most over resolution, and frame rate has zero effect other than being smoother. That said, it surprises me that supposed 50% more power results in half the frame rate at same resolution. Time to triangle was supposed to be 1 month. @Stsonic: "How can a game be the best looking next generation but at the same time you didn't expect it to be 1080p?" Resolution is pretty independent of how good a game looks. Consider a 4k game, that has the equivalent of 480p texture and minimal effects! Many arcade games run at 1080p, yet does not look as good as AAA games. In short, Ryse look so good at E3, I didn't expect them to be able to push 1080p native.
no...they said Forza's is running near 60 fps and will be able to get to a solid 60 soon. Drive club is running around 45 to 50 and will be at 60 at launch.for me it's a no brainer which exclusive is going to have the best game play and variety. also no way in hell is ryse the best looking next gen game, maybe for cg graphics but nothing else.I think shadow fall or battlefield looks better. that and it looks so bland with its game play.(did you see the multiplayer demo? It was the laughing stalk of gamescom) and I think that was running on pc's along with the rest of their games.
Nekroo91- The hilarious thing about what you just posted is how EVERYTHING you just used as an example is 2004 technology. Dynamic lighting and shadows? lol. ID Software did those things 9 years ago when they released Doom 3. And huge outdoor environments with day/night cycles are even older tech. From everything i've seen so far, the most impressive graphics are clearly on the Xbone. And before anyone says Killzone again... you need to actually take a close look at the graphics without being drunk. The fact remains that both "next gen" consoles clearly don't have the GPU power needed. It's sad to think about how neither console with their 1.7 or 1.3gflops will EVER be able to match the graphics of a year old PC game like Crysis 3. Refining, polishing, or any other word you want to use to describe how developers manage to get more out of the hardware as time goes on simply isn't enough improvement to be able to do the massive calculations required for a game that b*tch slaps my GTX 680 which does 3.8gflops, more than doubling the power of either "next gen" system. PC gamers had high hopes that these new consoles would be modern and very powerful so we wouldn't have to endure another decade of game development being held back by consoles... but that's exactly what is going to happen this time as well.
"seeing how it is the best looking next generation console game" No, its not, Killzone's SP mode kills it. You said it yourself Nukie, resolution and framerates are not the be all end all of graphics quality, and I agree. That's why i think the GOW:A looks better than Ryse, for their respective systems. Ryse looks to grey to me so far, its seems only really Marius has all the detail and everything else is left out. And the animations are way to stiff/choppy at this point. And to Uninformed/Misinformation AndrewLB So now the PS4 has 1.7TFlops? man, you juts love to get it wrong eh?
It's also been confirmed that Microsoft has more money than Sony and is not struggling to make profit.
@Kryptix Ms unlocked dual drivers this month for most devs. Expect the 1080p they announced to digitalfoundry earlier.
Nowhere near the best looking next gen console game. Nowhere near it. Not even in the top 10.
Is, Killzone:SF, Knack, or Drive Club 1080p "native" @ 60fps? Confirmed by anyone at SONY or the devs making the games? No.
Is Ryse, DR3, or KI 1080 "native" @ 60fps? Confirmed by anyone at MS or the devs making the games? No. And p.s. Titanfall isnt even confirmed 60fps on X1, that's just their aim, just like Driveclub's http://www.eurogamer.net/ar... Read the last 2 questions, straight from the devs mouth (oh wait Respawn isnt even programming the game for X1, oops)
so far 1080p games are only on X1 (titanfall forza ryse dead rising and halo for sure) so yeah , only achievable on X1
What!? Why are there so many misinformed MS fanboys on this thread? KZ, DC, Knack, Infamous, AC4, Watchdogs, and just about every other game is 1080 on PS4 (with the except of a few, which are also 720p on X1), so what the hell are you talking about? You better go take another look and get your facts right. And what's funny is one of the X1's flagship title, KI, is 720p. No Sony flagship title runs at 720p. Get your facts right. Then again, "ignorance" its how MS gets them
LOL you actually think Dead Rising 3 is going to be 1080p, they can barely get the game running 30fps and you think they are actually going to go 1080p....With everything they want going on screen expect 720p for DR3
infamous is not 1080p ... and i really don't know about KI i don't even know if it a launch title or not . @deadpoolio yup DR3 looks amazing running smooth with 30FPS and run at 1080p deal with it unlike infamous and drive club witch is still 720p
@trywizardo Wtf? How delusional are you? Both Driveclub and Infamous: Second Son is 1080p.
This shouldn't surprise anyone. Developers are just getting the stereo drivers, which unlocks the full hardware and is optimized to take advantage of the custom tech. I said it months ago and sony fans laughed and poked at me. But, 99% of xbox one games will do 1080p 60 or 30fps easily. November can't come fast enough!
I thought it was the "mono" drivers which are considered to be so great to the MS fanboys, now its the "stereo" drivers? Give me a break, you people will just pull any crap out your a$$es. Bet you's dont know a lick about the drivers though And custom tech? you mean the custom tech that is ~90% the same as the PS4? except MS decided to make it way more complicated then Sony did, that custom tech? Yeah, they can keep that "custom" tech. And havent you heard, devs are saying that the drivers are worst on the X1 then they are on the PS4, and other devs have said that games that can be run at 1080/30fps on PS4, run at around 1600x900/20~fps on X1, but will probably be castrated on the PS4 just to give X1 console parity. Pathetic! but that's you're all so powerful, custom X1 for you.
dantesparda... Mono Drivers have just recently been replaced with Stereo drivers. You are incorrect in just about everything you stated, no need to go through and dissect your comment. Bottom line is, you obviously believe what you want, just to make you feel better about your choice in console. Good for you. But, it doesn't change the facts. Xbox One...The games will be the proof. Just because you don't understand the tech involved and all you understand is TFLOPS & Faster Ram, LOL....More to it than that kid. The developers up to this point have only been able to go off of the Mono Drivers...Let's see what is said closer to launch. Some devs have already stated they they are "Surprised" at the performance of ONE of the consoles. Stereo Drivers unlocks much of the specialized tech in the xbox one. MS paid AMD twice as much money to customize and co produce the tech in the xbox one. PS4 is slightly customized with basic off the shelf parts...so at a rookie glance, it looks better on paper, but once you do a deep dive in the tech, its obvious the xbox one is waaaaaaaaaay more advanced tech and once again, the games once released, will show the difference. :-)
My god your even quoting Albert on GAF. Jesus H.Christ. See you in November.
Even if they "unlock" the hardware... It still isn't as well thought out as the PS4's customized hardware. Sony owns proper engineers and actually partners with and socializes with other engineers. Microsoft just pays for it all and that is why their bigger spending resulted in worse results. Microsoft bought research, they didn't research it themselves so it didn't fit with the overall system as well. Sony researched every possible thing to the last detail. It is especially specialized for gaming. PS4 uses OpenGL, it can take far more advantage of the hardware because it is far more open for development tools and techniques. You forgot all the extra background processing done on the X1 and the un-optimized OS. PS4 is the truly customized system. It is entirely designed around its purpose. X1 is partly designed around its purpose. Calling PS4 off the shelf is just retarded. It obviously is all so optimized and designed around itself that it was able to reduce temperatures, size, and power usage while achieving greater performance. If developers were actually getting newer drivers then they would be saying so. You are trying to tell us Microsoft, a software company(that makes flopped OS's and rehashes them with bug fixes and forced changes), forgot to design the drivers around the system itself, or rather "locked" it. Get out. Even if they had improved drivers release they wouldn't make up for the hardware's difference of performance and the performance burden it has given by the un-optimized OS. Nothing is special in the X1. PS4 has everything but better. All X1 has is the eSRAM and that is another burden on itself and the developers. Know what further proves your arrogance and fake words? Every time I reply completely disproving you I just get 1 disagree afterwards and no response from you. If they are facts then you could prove it.
edgeofsins Xbox One launch games will be 1080p 60fps, that's what this article is about.... Launch Games..... Imagine 3 or 4 years into the life cycle..... 4000k games on the Xbox One....As already confirmed by Microsoft on several articles.... Too bad Sony has confirmed the Ps4 is NOT capable of 4000k games. LOL...LOL....LOL.... Let the excuses begin.....
What happened to KI? 720p at 60fps. Power of the X1. But the sequel should be 4k though huh? Brain washed, you truly are brainwashed. You are nothing but a laughing stock. See you in November!
Ryze will be 30fps, Dead Rising will be 30fps, and those two chug and struggle at times to acheive that. You are saying because any launch game is 60 fps at 1080p as if it makes it superior to ps3 which has higher framerate in games so far and more stable frames. Killer Instinct is 720p as well. There is no special anything that can get rid of the performance burden of 4k resolution. Microsoft likes to upscale games and tell you they are full HD, when they aren't. They twist that topic around. 4k gaming does not mean native, if anything they will only upscale but the games won't actually be designed or in actual 4k. Sony doesn't lie or twist things around. Of course they won't tell you 4k gaming will be a thing. Because it likely won't other then for silly games with little going on.
Ryse now confirmed 900p(1600x900). https://twitter.com/aarongr... Sad day.
dumb PS4 fun boys, get outta here, thanks :)
Wake up and read this. More BS contradicting stories from MS. http://n4g.com/news/1355991...
LOL, the 900p?
they lied...they confessed today lies only achievable on xb1
Why should there even be a confirmation for this? Pretty much all next generation titles(Except KI) are going to be native 1080p, well until the generation goes on and they have to start sacrificing resolution for better graphics.
Battlefield 4 on consoles isn't 1080p.
Is that confirmed?
I'm not quite sure. Apparently the resolution they have achieved is 'over 720p' but they are remaining cagey about how high the resolution really is. I don't think it will be 1080p on consoles.
I really don't mean to disagree with you, seeing as DICE has yet to "officially" confirm the exact resolution... But for that same reason, I believe it's still possible for Next Gen consoles to achieve it. They said they're hovering above 720p, but not quite 1080p. I think they are at least pushing for 1080p, but until we get that confirmation from them, we can't know for sure. I just think it's possible with some optimization.
@Rev Ah yeah I'm hoping its the case too. I don't see why consoles, in particular the PS4, can't handle 1080p. Here's hoping...
@Septic, That's true. BF4 is multiplat and SONY has yet to confirm 1080p 60fps through the campaign in Killzone:SF. And Killzone:SF is exclusive, so what's the problem? Knack is made by Mark Cerny, it isn't confirmed 1080p 60fps. Drive Club isn't confirmed 1080p @ 60fps either.
They are not going to get it at 1080p, 1600x900 at best. And to otherZinc Why cant X1 make KI, DR3, and Ryse [email protected], they are all exclusives? Heck it cant even make any of those games barely [email protected], they all have framerate issues or lower res. So how you like them apples? And Driveclub is striving to do 60fps, but the devs care more about graphics detail, than the Forza guys do
Knack, Driveclub and Killzone SF have all been confirmed as 1080p... Framerates for them vary, Killzone:Shadow Fall is 1080p @30fps for single player, and 1080p variable 60fps on multiplayer. Knack is 60fps, Driveclub is currently at a solid 30fps and has been confirmed to be 1080p natively... Watch_Dogs and Assassin's creed 4 have both been confirmed by Ubisoft that the PS4 demonstrations at E3 and Gamescon Ran at 1080p and a solid 30fps... Battlefield for is running at 60fps but not fullHD... A resolution higher than 720p and lower than 1080p, the PS4 version demonstrated on the Gamescon show floor confirmed this. The only next gen game I know of that's running at 720p is killer instinct... Go figure!!! And lets not forget, Dead Rising 3, which at Gamescon struggling to maintain 30fps. And Capcom hasn't even confirmed it's resolution.
all games on next-gen consoles must be full hd native, otherwise its not a next-gen.
I don't think every title will be 1080p or at minimum, 1080p at 60fps. But that is ok!!!! Sometimes the ambition of programmers and designers exceed the available technology.
LOL he says they WILL be native 1080p, so im guessing they still havent got that Ryse turd up to that rez yet even tho they arent even getting 30fps still, ah well there is always the xbox 2 right.
