Lords of Shadow 2 takes place in “one night,” gameplay is split between 60% city and 40% castle
60%city?? Well Vampire in Brooklyn. Hope it's as good and beautiful as the first parts of the first game.
Can't wait for this game. The first was really well done and the ending was superb. I never played the DLC so I have no idea how Simon became a vampire so I hope they cover this in the sequel.
agree, n simon never became a vampire, if trevor n gabriel(they aready cover it in the lord of shadow dlc) yes
Well this is a surprise. I was under the assumption that the Present Day gameplay will only be a bare minimum similar to like Assassin's Creed.
Guess I'll have to dust off ol' reliable PS3 around February then. Lords of Shadow is one of the most underrated games this whole generation.
I've known this for months. Still, I can't wait for this game. The first Lords of Shadow was truly fantastic.
I'm probably in in the minority when I say that Lords of Shadow was pretty damn amazing. Not only was that plot twist at the end incredibly satisfying to witness, but the game had some of the most memorable boss fights I've played. MercurySteam really captured the essence of Castlevania and made it work better than any other 3D Castlevania. I'm sure it's an honor for them to be able to work with such a legendary franchise. It surprises me to see how far these guys have come because everything about Lords of Shadow 2 looks like everything I could have asked for in a sequel. Sucks that this is their last Castlevania.
It was a great game, I just hated the camera angles half the time. Getting charged from something you can't see off screen was annoying.
Yeah the fixed camera was my biggest issue. Sometimes it was so zoomed out the frame rate took a massive hit because there was so much on screen. Other times it was so zoomed in, that like you said, you couldn't tell if something was coming at you from the sides. Fixed camera can be a real problem sometimes. The boss fights felt like a completely different game though. Even the frame rate was much smoother, (minus the Stone Idol and Colossus).
MERCURY STREAM said they like to tackle Contra next. im hoping that is true, it has been way to long for any Contra game outside of 3DS contra 4 been made. Treasure or wayforward should be tackling this game for ps3-ps4 possibility.
A third-person Contra could be really interesting for them. Just from playing Lords of Shadow, it's easy to tell that they love a good story, which is exactly what Contra needs. Couple that with the amazing artists at MercurySteam and we could have a winner. Could end up being one of the best looking games of next gen too, if Lords of Shadow 2 is any indicator of what they're capable of.
