Call of Duty: Ghosts started as 'Modern Warfare 4'

In the weeks leading up to the Call of Duty: Ghosts reveal, fans tended to use "Modern Warfare 4" as shorthand for the unnamed project. Apparently that title wasn't just for fans, as executive producer Mark Rubin says the game actually started as a direct sequel, before the studio changed the name. (Call of Duty: Ghosts, PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

So in other words, this is MW4 and they just changed the name to make it sound like a new "innovative" series

Now there will be 3 COD games every 2 years. Black Ops one year, MW and Ghost the other LOL

Sounds about right, MW4-2 Ghosts Revenge.

"it came to the conclusion that with an entirely new engine, it could do somewhat of a reboot"

Thought it was not a new engine but the old one highly revised. Either way, looks too similar to the old ones graphically and gameplay wise to invest $60 on it. I cancelled my preorder last week and prepaid Infamous SS.

I think they mean COD4

I always give cod a chance (bought bo2 last year) but they cant expect me to buy it next gen when all theyve done is polish the graphics, add some scripted destruction and also shown f### all gameplay!! especially whens theres killzone and bf4!!!

polished the gameplay as well, they made a huge load of new animations for this game, and people really need to stop hating on it ESPECIALLY when those same people are gonna be playing it eventually.

THAT EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS!!! nothing more then MW4, but they knew they'd get SLAUGHTER in the press with anything similiar to that garbage MW3, but that's really ALL this is.. and folks like IGN are gonna continue to pump in the trash as if its really something "new and innovative"...... like the dev said, this really nothing more than MW4..

HAHAAAHAAA
Well ofcourse Activision. No offence, but Imma just gonna play Borderlands, Destiny and Battlefield and I think I'll have my FPS shooters full
Try something different AND ACTUALLY PUT EFFORT IN YOUR GAME
Fucking fish and a dog are not revolutionary!
You lied about having a new engine!
You lied that you are making a new COD for next gen!
You lied that you would listen to fans!
I was a fan since the original! COD4 was great! Black ops was great everything else and in between sucked ass!
What happened to you guys?! You were praised by making the best FPS on a console! COD4 was one of the most popular shooters ever! You actually put some effort in your games! Now COD is like a used whore, that you keep trying to sell to your customers!
If you still wonder why people make fun of you, why dont you watch the XBox One reveal and see your part.
It's too damn easy to make fun of you people!
