I would
create that AR/VR headset for gaming and develop some interesting uses for it, release it for the PS4.

Buy the Chrono Trigger IP from Square. Get Toriyama to get some HD sprites and Uematsu to do some live orchestra and BOOM.

I would commit murder for this.

Considering is publisher and 3rd party relations, if I had control over PS in his position, I'd dip into Sony's Pocket and Make the Destiny IP Exclusive to the PS3, PS4 and PC for 6 months, and also have All DLC for the life of the Ip release on PS3 and PS4 exclusively for 30 days...

I'd Bring Yakuza to the West, I'd Secure More third party exclusives, for 6 Months especially the popular franchises, KH, MGS, FF. Heck, If I controlled PS I'd market the helm out of First party exclusives more than they do now, Brands Like Killzone, Infamous and Resistance, especially resistance wouldn't have died a horrid death for being such a remarkable franchise with poor support, would get huge financial backings... The cliche, spend money to make money comes into play... But that's just me.. oh and I'd grown all internal teams to two team studios and mandate that they create a new Ip.

I really wouldn't do very much, I'm quite happy with how Sony has handled the Playstation, since forever, with some exceptions.

The only real, major complaint I have is the lack of backwards compatibility. That's kind of a major issue. For me, the personal detriment is somewhat lessened by the fact that I'm a PC gamer with the ability to emulate almost every PS1 or PS2 game out there. But what happens with the next generation? The PS4 won't play PS3 games, Sony will eventually stop manufacturing PS3s--sooner, rather than later--and the PS3s that do exist are doomed to inevitable failure--which, due to the increased complexity of modern electronics, is also more likely to occur sooner rather than later.

I would say that digital distribution is the one great and true savior of backwards-compatibility, but apparently none of our digital libraries will transfer over to the PS4, regardless of platform, so that's out the window.

It may not seem like a big deal to some (especially the younger, or more casual) gamers, but it's a problem that--if current trends persist--will increase exponentially. Already, working NES and SNES consoles are become a rarity; in five years time, the same will be said of working PS2s; in ten years time, PS3s. We are on the verge of repeating the same--easily and often-forseeable--tragedy that befell the other two most recently invented forms of media, television and film. Is it really okay that, fifty years from now, classic games will be erased from the world? That games like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Majora's Mask, Rise of Nations, Homeworld, Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Freespace, Ultima, Red Alert, Psychonauts, Legacy of Kain, The Longest Journey, Dragon Quest, Suikoden, and so very, very many more will be lost forever?

Hell, many of the games I mentioned above already have been lost forever--or, at least, have been lost to all but those willing to succumb to the temptation of piracy.

The lack of backwards compatibility in the upcoming console generation is a problem. The unwillingness of the industry--mostly Sony, but Nintendo, too, to a lesser extent--and the community to recognize the problem... is, ultimate, the greater issue.

....

But, yeah, beyond that? I want custom soundtracks in every game and more USB ports.
