GamePro Editors Tae K. Kim and Dave Rudden recently attended Nintendo's annual Media Summit where they were treated to a veritable avalanche of hands-on demos and presentations for the Wii titles that will keep your hands busy this coming year. So read on for their impressions and see why 2008 just may be the Year of Nintendo!
2008 phenomenon..
Wii EAT...
They will release the Wii Fork... then they will sell all kinds of DFC(Downloadable food content) on Wii fi.
Nintendo has disappointed me, I would have thought that Wii would be fantastic judging from the Gamecube, how wrong I was...
Seven Reasons to get a Wii:
1. MGS4
2. GTAIV
3. LBP
4. Home
5. GT5
6. Resistance 2
7. Killzone 2
This is Nintendo's YEAR!!!
But GTFO if you're a fanboy.
Fanboy is quite a loose term, my friend.
There are those that would call me a Nintendo fanboy as well...or PC fanboy...take your pick, really.
I was just stating the obvious.
The Wii doesn't have anything this year. Wii Fit has proven to be a glorified ab-lounge. Mario Kart is...still Mario Kart. The only promising thing the Wii has this year is Sadness...unless that comes out next year. Regardless, that game's gonna rock!
I just sold my Wii towards another PS3. I'm selling my half to my brother. (It was a shared gift.)
Seriously though, I can't think of 7 GOOD reasons to get a Wii.
Then 2008 looks like an awful year for Nintendo. If they can only think of seven, and if the seven are not even that strong, it's going to be a weak year.
I just know that my inner Nintendo fanboy died the moment the specs were revealed. I almost died when the controller was announced and it looked so retarded like a mouse with one button but I was in denial so I thought "perhaps this is the best thing to grace gaming, ever". Since I made the false assumption that the Wii possessed the rumoured specs of 2.5 Ghz quad-core processor, a relatively powerful GPU and 256MB of RAM, I thought it would be alright when compared to both 360 and PS3. Then rumour came that it wouldn't be clocked 2.5 Ghz, but that it would be 1.8Ghz, and that the amount of RAM would be 192MB, and it would have 22GB discs. That made me really pissed off... but in the end it turned out to be worse, MUCH worse than that. So I decided to finally quit Nintendo, as the only thing new for the console was the controller, and frankly that wasn't enough for me, and still isn't. I was actually expecting at most a $149 price point, but Nintendo had to throw sh1t to a million fans and price it way above any acceptable range for what the Wii offers.
Great, now a very expensive, useless and not fun add-on will release to the joy of non-gamers and easily impressionable idiots out there, with an inferior version of Dance Dance revolution, horrible non-game non-sports applications, and, you guessed it, roll the ball in the hole.
*claps*
EDIT: Thank you much, Bootsielon.
...and there was much rejoicing.
How sad are these 7 "reasons" to get a Wii or to love the Wii or whatever. It shouldn't say "Nintendo Fans", it should say "Hardcore Nintendo fanboys" because they will only force themselves to like whatever Nintendo feels like churning out without an effort. How sad to be just a Wii owner, the same graphics that debuted in 1998 with the dreamcast, that is, ten years ago, will be there for another what... 5 years? God knows how much time Nintendo wants to prolong the agony of hardcore gamers that ONLY own a Wii (if there are even any).
I will have to agree with my great friend, raccoon city police savior and resident evil character LeonSKennedy4Life, there are no reasons to stick with the Wii; unless of course, its games start costing $19.99 and the Wii $149.99. And judging by how retarded people are to buy it at its current prices... then that will take a long time.
Although I am dying for new content...but thats why I like my Ps3. pleentty of innovative stuff coming. 360. Good games. But innovation? not so much.
I immediately regret selling my Wii...
I'm sorry, but it's worth 250 bucks to play a Strong Bad game.
What a mistake I've made.
Sewiously.
All of the Wii games are $5-$10 games on Wii ware, except for Wii fit.The other 2 are DS. Also all but one of those games are 3rd party efforts. I dont agree with most of the games they decided to showcase but I do think Wii ware will be a good addition for current Wii owners.
