That is how it should be.

Do athletes get to go and wipe their stats because they had a bad year ?

You do something, it documents it, you then get a realistic picture of whatever.

The only thing I understand it for is K/D which is like Batting average.

If you start a season at .220, and it's like that until June, your most likely not going to hit .300 that year.

If you start at .320 and have a 40 game slump and still be hitting .280

So yea people who start and maintain and initial 4.5 k/D will seem as though they are better than they may really be.

I have a .8 k/D in BF3, but the past 40 games I've been in the top 3 every time.

I'm better now, but my initial k/D was .6 so it's taken a while to improve it.

I went 5 games in a row of 25-7 type games and it only went up .01

Even though I'm much better now, my K/D will NEVER reflect it, and thus I appear to be a worse player than I really am.

The only way to tell I'm better is to be in a game with me and see my score be near the top and witness me capturing and holding spots/flags.

Just like in PS2 Socom. In a room full of Admirals, Lt. Colonels, and Majors. Beware the Butter Bars.
