lol nice move on Microsofts part to ramp up ninja gaiden sales. Ninja gaiden is a great game but for some reason it never sells too well. Judging from VGchartz data NG sigma is the highest selling which is a shocker since its on the PS3. I'm sure Ninja Gaiden 2 will double those sales though

green3894d ago

what are the sales figures for NG on xbox?Because according to Nextgen Biz,NGS sold just over 470,000.

sonarus3894d ago (Edited 3894d ago )

Yea i think Xbox version sold less than 100 grand but that is according to vgchartz and those guys can't be trusted. Actually it was 70,000 but that only includes JP data. So the original on Xbox probably did outsell sigma. My bad:D

green3894d ago

i think it still sold badly. It must have been the difficulty

sonarus3894d ago

yea not everyone is qualified to beat a ninja gaiden game. Not everyone is willing to put in the time and effort.

NG and NGB combined to sell 1.5 million copies

meepmoopmeep3894d ago

yeah NG is for core gamers. but it's a smart move by TN to have different difficulties for this sequel. and the free Map pack is a great move by MS to get the sales up.

The reason ninja gaiden doesnt sale is because even the hardcore gamer cry, becuause of the diffuculty. I ended sigma in the normal diffuculty and it was challengind enough. I will never ever try to finish the game in hard mode because i dont wanna lose my hair. Some people feel like Is not worth all the stress in trying to end this game. But the minority of the people like the challenge. I am not going to pick up ninga gaiden in june because i will be to busy with metal gear solid and Grant theft auto and plus i am playing right now grant turismo.

The Xbox 1 total hardware sales were very low, especially in Japan and a lot of people didn't even know about Ninja Gaiden and yes the difficulty had some part in it I guess.

This gen NG2 will sell a lot more than the first one thats for sure.

Oh and usual nice to see the American's getting looked after again, always nice to see them getting all the stuff as usual...

I think Microsoft needs to get Ninja Gaiden more out there though, this way more people make use of the cross-promotion.

Ninja Gaiden 2 also seems like it's getting a lot more promotion this time around so it is bound to sell more. I might take them up on this offer assuming I can't find a better deal somewhere else.
