GameXplain: "We find out if The Wonderful 101 is worthy of the hype in our video review!"
little advice to anyone who reads Reviews of Games Developed by Platinum Games. Play it yourself.
Agreed. Platinum makes games that are unique. I liked what I've played so far in the Wonderful 101. Will definitely purchase this game on release day.
At least it's offering something different than your usual sequel that comes out monthly... people complain about rehashing then they complain when something different is released.
I agree with this review 100%. I wanted to love and support this game. But after downloading the demo, the flaws are obvious. I don't think the game is horrible, just frustrating, and visually confusing. I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually, but I won't rush out to buy this one when there are some guaranteed winners coming up very soon for WiiU.
That is fare to say.... any idea what turned you off. Feed back is golden ya know... nothing a patch could not fix... also they could add a mode where you dont draw you just choose from 3 preset shapes. I design too and I think this game is great but some people will need a little more hand holding or visual ques. Also the bigger you draw the bigger your weapon is, pressing y let you assing combine weapons to w101s you are not controlling directly, this can also be another attack button. So basicly you can control two groups as if they where one. Its like a street fighter action game or powerstone on steroids. Im getting pikman when it gets cold so I can get some coco and enjoy a lazy day playing that with my girl. Then its dktf and rayman. Nintendo truly loves the old schoolers.
The more people I see complaining about the controls in this game, the more I'm compelled to learn and master them. Bring it on.
I cant remember the last time a game bounced all over the place like this. As low as 3/10, all the up to 10/10. It seems to really divide game journalists. I guess a game this unique will do that. I've watched videos of people playing this game online and I cringe it how they cant perform a simple task. I'm not sure if this game makes them over-think, or what. Theres times where there would be a nice size tutorial box showing what to do(you can turn it off), and the player still couldnt figure it out(must of been ignoring the tutorial box). Ive played the demo and know enough info to know I want this game. It's a pure action game with a unique artstyle. The controls can be challanging, but its not the games fault. It isnt like theres a bug in the game to where if you draw a gun the same exact way twice, that it wont work one of the times. Just like in a fighting game, you need to master how to execute the move.
This is why I call them pop gamers. They are not here to game. They dont like a challenge or action that they control. They like co lecting things and story only.or better yet online play is the only thing to get them going since they are pushed by their peers. This is a direct definition of a pop gamer. they dont know that the real story is in the game play, learning, and the art of design and everything fringe in interaction. id suggest playing the demo and if you dont have a wiiu yet to any one else reading... zelda 1 is already out on it, ghouls and ghost on the snes, dand d finally came out. The mario u is better when playing it, the dlc is a whole game for cheap, pikmin is out, the nfs online is onthe pc level, kid icuras, super metroid, f zero, nano assault, and Nintendo land has about 7 different spins on your favorite games... notably the metroid co op play... and online is needed for this game though.
