"It seems like fans weren’t the only ones who were surprised by Wind Waker’s art style, as it appears that Miyamoto was too" --Nintendo Enthusiast.
It's funny because the older I get, the more this style appeal to me. Everybody wanted more Ocarina style after the success of OoT & MM and I don't blame them, I was one of those people too. I'm extremely grateful for them for making a game with this Art Style though. It is proof that Art Style + Skilled Artists, is almost always better than "realistic" graphics, unless the gameplay that accompanies the realistic graphics is just off the charts.
When I first saw it I was disgusted. I was younger and wanted realistic graphics in all my games. Then I played it and fell absolutely in love with it. My 2nd favorite Zelda game after A Link to the Past.
when I first saw it. I wasn't annoyed by it.
Even without the art style the game is still mediocre trash. I don't know why Nintendo didn't just rerelease twilight princess in HD and bundle it with the Wii u.
