Did they say 1200 premium cars?

This is a "Concept" trailer from Gamescom (search it on youtube), and no, GT6 won't have 1,200 Premium cars. Although, all of the cars will be customizable in any way, unlike how it is in GT5. What the customizations are, we don't know yet.

You sure? They were talking about modeling the cars and said they modeled 1200 cars using this technique. They were showing off the drivers seat and dash board when they mentioned this. I had a hard time understanding the translators during this event but i know for a fact they said 1200 cars.

After they showed the wire-frame model of the Ferrari which was a picture of the "workings" of adaptive tessellation, "Adaptive Tessellation represents the next-generation in 3D model rendering technology. Tessellation involves dividing a polygon into multiple geometric tiles, and in Adaptive Tessellation, the polygons will automatically divide and become finer according to the viewing distance and position. This makes it possible to maintain the very high quality of the surface image whether you are close up or far away from your viewing object",

“The PS3 was a combination of a poor GPU with an SPU that’s really fast if you use it right. It’s not a very well-balanced machine. It’s hard to use the hardware properly. That’s one reason why it took us five years to develop GT5. Using the SPU properly, though, that in itself is really interesting. On the PS3, in the demo, we showed the adaptive tessellation. That’s the kind of technology that you normally wouldn’t be able to do unless you were on the PS4-generation of machines. When you optimize the use of the SPU properly, you can do that even on the PS3",

...they showed the Fisker Karma's and Pagani Huayra's interiors which are new to GT.

The adaptive tessellation will help things run more smoothly while showing the highest detail (of anything) possible based on distance. It won't do much to improve the less detailed cars and objects. Generally speaking, it'll help PD to cram as many things/improvements on screen as possible without sacrificing quality.

"Will there be “Standard Cars” in GT6?

We won’t be making all the Standard cars from GT5 into Premium models, and we won’t make all of the GT5′s Standard cars fully “Premiumized”.

Up until now, we used to categorize them as Standard and Premium because there were functional differences between them: some of the Standard models might not have tuning parts, or couldn’t be used in Photo Mode. That will all be cleared so every model can be used in Photo Mode, and every car can have parts fitted for it.

In terms of graphics quality, the bad quality Standard models we’ve updated so they look better.

Will all of the cars have interior views?

No.

(Editor’s note: This apparently does not apply to all of the cars which were listed as “Standard” in GT5. For example, two cars which were prominently featured in the GT6 trailer and its first official batch of screenshots, the Lamborghini Countach LP400 and Alpine A110 1600S, both appeared as Standard cars in GT5 but have apparently been converted to “full” Premium models – with interiors – in GT6.)"

1,200 cars, but not all of them will be Premium.

Two disagrees for my first comment (I know one of them wasn't from you) and that just proves how "WRONG", for lack of a better word, some morons are.

whoops

haha and 3 agrees (as of now) for your questioning if I'm right which isn't the bad part. The bad part is those who agreed and proved how "WRONG" they are.

There have been Nike and Air Jordan cars in the Gran Turismo games for a long time. Usually really cool looking concept cars.

A very similar trailer has been up on the official JP GT site for a while. However, I think this version is slightly longer and contains a few brief sections that are new.
