With The Last of Us, Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite all offering some of the most interesting female characters to ever grace the medium, Liam Pritchard at Brash Games asks if 2013 has been the best yet for the fairer sex.

Ellie is doing for gaming what Ripley (Aliens) did for movies!
She's a beast... https://www.googledrive.com...
I'm seeing a lot of games with male protagonists and damsel-style female characters tossed in. So, yeah--not exactly a great year if psychopath Lara Croft is the best thing women get in gaming.
I'd actually go as far as to proclaim Ellie to be the greatest female character in gaming history, her characterisation was terrifically and immaculately handled, offering her a diverse array of personality, we as players sympathised for her, laughed with her and cared for her protection, whilst also recognising her courage and reliability in combat. Her and Joel's relationship was the single greatest experience of the year and marked a new milestone in video game storytelling...
Not including all the swearing she did, i guess? :)
I don't think I would put her as the "greatest" because there are MANY other females that are just as badass, but she definitely is one of them :)
