Bad news, PC gamers: Diablo 3 on consoles is much better than the release you bought | Penny Arcade

Penny Arcade: "The good news is that Diablo 3 for consoles improved on the original PC release in nearly every way. It’s not enough that Blizzard has made a good port of Diablo for the controller, that’s a pretty big achievement by itself, but this version of Diablo 3 is in fact much better than the original PC release.

Sorry PC gamers, you kind of lose on this one."

Yeah, I had no interest in Diablo 3 on PC. Got one of those trials from a friend who bought it and stopped playing within about 30 minutes. On console sitting on the couch with a buddy though? That's the way to go. Sat there for about 6 straight hours. Was really enjoying it on console. Which is weird since I'm normally a PC guy.

Really? Interesting...

What makes it so much better? Is it the convenience of a controller, or..?

Because I bought it for PC when it launched, and haven't really played it in awhile.

I can see just sitting down with a controller being a really good fit for Diablo 3. I think I might have to pick it up again when it comes out on PS4, but I haven't really been able to justify a second purchase.

The fact you had to be constantly connected online to even play single player killed all hype I ever had for the game.

After putting so many hours into D1 and D2 single player campaigns, to me, the way they implemented D3 just seemed nonsensical. Will definitely be picking up the PS4 version at some point. Totally offline and a much easier control scheme by the looks of it. :D.

Best part is on the fly there is an option to go to Offline, LAN, Invite only, Friends only and Online.

Just wish there was an option to browse open games rather then being randomly teamed up but either way I am loving the console version and can't put it down.

My friend who has it for PC likes it so much better outside of graphics but PS4 will fix that. Local Co-Op alone makes it worth it and I have played more single and online.

Actually, PC and Consoles guys are both losers for playing that POS Diablo3.

Fix the title! Diablo on consoles 3 is much better...

modesign3877d ago

it should be diablo on PS3 is much better

4logpc3877d ago

I am not sure if better is the right word.

The console version requires much less time and dedication. They essentially throw way better stuff at you which makes the game way easier.

The PC version takes hours and hours to get a good build. Console takes about 2.

ramza043877d ago

So what kind of good build can be achieved in 2 hrs? In 5 minutes on the pc I can open my wallet and spend 5 dollars and have a much better build than I currently have playing about 20 hrs on console.

4logpc3877d ago

Or you know....dont open your wallet and play the game.

dktxx23877d ago

There are no "builds" in Diablo 3. There are no skill points or anything else like them that takes their place. All characters are the exact same.

4logpc3877d ago

Sorry but you are wrong.

ramza043877d ago

Actually if u consider that u can mix and match all skills plus taking into account all the skill runes there's millions of different combinations. I remember them talking about this pre-release on pc. Also skill points are on the way with reaper of souls

dktxx23876d ago

Every class has access to the same skills and runes. There's no choice involved, thus no builds. Very simple and easy to understand.

Translation "I wish I had a PC"

KonsoruMasuta3877d ago

Why? So he can play an inferior version of Diablo 3? Lol JK.

sorane3877d ago

Personally I don't know why anyone would want to play Diablo 3. It's just a bad game regardless of platform.

kingmushroom3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

If I can't Play GTA5 11days from now then who the hell wishes they had a PC.......NO ONE.

SonyNGP3877d ago

@kingmushroom

That is the dumbest thing I've ever read on this site.

The Greatest Video Game Comeback Stories in Gaming History

Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein78d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

shinoff218378d ago

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera387d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33386d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.

Diablo III Season 28 Brings a New Use for the Staff of Herding

Diablo III: Season 28 brings with it the Altar of Rites, an altar full of unlockable bonuses and potions that will require the gathering of tons of resources.
