It’s been a long journey, but the end is finally in sight; Trails in the Sky SC (or Second Chapter) will see a Western release in 2014. Even better, both the PC AND PSP versions will make it here, on Steam and PSN respectively.
Oh man, finally! This is really great news! :)
I just beat the first one on the PSP like 2 months ago and I was going crazy when I thought this wasn't going to see a sequel being released in the West. I am incredibly excited, can't wait to buy this game.
YES! Just started Gagharv Trilogy. Going to finish those 3, then play Trails in the Sky so I can get ready for SC. One of the 20 best gaming announcements that could ever have happened.
I really hope this gives a better chance for the new PS3 Trails of the Sky to come West.
"This release is the product of a collaboration between XSEED, publisher of the first Trails game, and Carpe Fulgur. " This just says to me XSEED would've completely abandoned the project if it weren't for Carpe Fulgur. Still no complaints, fans were praying every day for this, me included.
let's rejoice a moment at this news 2014 it is ... problem is that the 3rd game is gonna be in 2019 at this rate
The reason it took so long is that they were putting minimal resources toward the project. If TitS 2 (lol) does well, then they'll put more money into the third one and maybe even the others as well. I'm imagining the PC (assuming steam) release will help it gain much needed recognition.
3rd is not a smaller script to translate when you compare it to the 2nd .. it's ok to be optimistic , but unless it REEEAAAALLLLY sells , it's safe to assume the worst.
Maybe 2015 / 2016. But while we waiting for the 3rd chap of Trails in the Sky, i hope SCEA new team will localize Trails of Zero, Trails of Blue, and Trails in the Flash.
Well, if there's another cliffhanger in the second one, I might just read a plot summary of the 3rd game...
I don't want to spoil the end ( and i won't ) but it's not a cliffanger ... however some issues , despite the VERY LONG game aren't solved in this one but in the third game ... Plenty of stuff is done in the second game don't get me wrong and in the end it feel like it's an ending ... You won't feel the cliffanger like at the end of the first game i assure you. This franchise just has one of the most detailled and huge world in the rpg genre and there is a lot of stuff to cover. Again you'll be satisfied with the 2nd game ending ( it's an ending ) but you'll want to play the 3rd game ASAP ..that's how it is.
This is pretty fucking awesome.
Why not just port it to Vita? Psp is old and shit now.
the first one is on the vita. there's nothing that points to it not coming to vita.
Shame no physical release.
It is a shame, but there's no profit to be made there so I don't blame them.
Yea, this is one of those "collectors" items type of games you'd actually want to own too. At least we get the game and it's story continued.
I'm still buying it. But it would be nice to own a physical copy. Since the Vita can play PSP games its too bad they couldn't just put the game on a Vita cartridge and release it that way.
I'm tempted to buy a Japanese copy of it.
YES! Day 1!
