Kotaku - Oculus Rift Taught Me I’d Suck as a Space Ship Pilot

Kotaku - The Oculus Rift VR helmet can be used for all sorts of games—everything from first-person shooters to side-scrolling platformers. But perhaps the best use of the Rift is in flight simulators like Lunar Flight. (Oculus Rift, PC, Tech)

It's games like these that may allow players to recognize or develop skill in the real world. Having the VR part makes it that much more realistic.

I'd love to play a space sim like Privater with something like this because head tracking doesn't limit your visual perspective to your tv screen. IT also allows for a natural sitting cockpit position unlike some motion sensing games.
