FFXIV producer expects some to shift from PC to PS4

Destructoid: "During a PAX interview this past weekend, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn producer Naoki Yoshida told us that they expect the balance between the PC and console versions of the game to be 70 percent PC / 30 percent console. On the other hand, PCs in Japan are mostly used for work, so that'll be upside down there. Yoshida explained that while Final Fantasy XI helped bring more Japanese gamers to PC, they still predict 65 percent of players to use a console for this next game."

Always better to play on a couch and be comfortable rather than sitting on a chair.

MasterCornholio1054d ago

I game while sitting in a chair since I use my desk for both work and play. But I always game with a controller because to me its a lot more comfortable than a mouse and keyboard. However its a pain to type with one but luckily the PS4 supports keyboards input.

Always better to sit in the right chair regardless for actual back rest and proper posture.

Well, it's pretty easy to play PC games on a couch. A lot of people build their own gaming PC's specifically purposed to be hooked up via HDMI to their HDTV's. Just every every modern PC game had full gamepad support, and it's easy to do manual legacy gamepad support as well for titles that have issues with modern gamepads or didn't have gamepad support in the first place.

There also exist wireless keyboards and mice (not exactly a recent phenomenon, lol.)

Just sayin'. Also, regardless of how close you are to the monitor, or what type of gaming you're doing, you always want to have the best comfort possible... Don't need any spinal issues in the future or anything.

When I was visiting my mom's village last June, we had to wait for a boat to come and pick us up. Since it'll take some time for it to arrive, I whipped out my laptop, connect the 360 controller and fired up Ace Combat Assault Horizon.

In the village I continued playing my library of Steam games from the comfort of a couch that console gamers loved so much.

Really, stop with that old nonsense of PC incapable of playing from a couch. If only Nvidia would expand the Shield's streaming tech to its future graphic cards on PCs or as add on cards then playing you PC games in the living room (or anywhere in the house with a TV or monitor)would be hassle free.

Its a safe bet that it will shift, The game really isn't that good and will end up mainly being a fanboy/console game

FamilyGuy1054d ago

You're kidding right? lol

Have you actually played it?
What didn't/don't you like about it?
Compare it to a similar game that blows it out the water.

I got a 50 bard and completed the story and geared up.

The combat still doesn't feel good even after gearing up and seems like they expected everyone to play with cast sequence macro's and not want to control their characters.

They'er really aren't that many single player mmo's with token reward systems but mmo's that i'd rather play and are currently out are Darkfall>Mortal Online>WoW>GW2>Tera UO and all have better combat then FFXIV

No big loss, the game isn't exactly great anyway...

I'm sticking with PC thanks.

Make sense to me since a lot of FF fans are Playstation fans as well..
