Resident Evil 5 Zombies Are Racist Themselves

Usman Ihtsham of WhatIfGaming writes:

"Look what we found on Capcom's servers above. Let's get one thing straight. Resident Evil 5 is an action adventure 3rd person shooter set in a village in Africa where a bunch of people are infected and go crazy. The game core itself digs deeps into the root of Africa's setting, the supposed origins for the infection, and plays upon the realization of the birthplace of humanity."

I love the sound of this

"and plays upon the realization of the birthplace of humanity"

I love where there takening the story and the idea of having it based in africa. I'm Mixed race half Nigerian and english so i like the sound of it being in my home Contry. This game gonna rock.

I'm looking forward to this game too. But if you want to make it a political or social issue, I don't see how this is going to shed a positive light on Africa or Nigeria.

I guess since the concensus is AIDs orginated in africa, why not this infection too. We need a healthy American, just happens to be white, to go and exterminate them all. I'll play it, I'd just rather not debate it politically.

This is a case where I hope we just let the game be a game.

Back in the early twentieth century to the 1950's, movie makers used Italians or other ethnic groups to play Indian Americans. White people sometimes played Black people. They simply painted their faces. It would seem to me that if the game were to be held in Africa and there weren't any Black people; wouldn't that be more racist? If we hear enough crying about this issue, Capcom may take them out. I think it would be more of a dis-service for the Black community.

You are right Dannagar. But in typical fashion, people are going to b**ch and complain no matter WHAT Capcom ends up doing.

What makes me laugh is that they always fought for equal opportunity rights and such, but now that them and their home land are being represented in interactive media like this, all of a sudden they don't want equal opportunity. God people are stupid! and fickle.
