Ryse: Son of Rome: Preview I Expansive

Ryse: Son of Rome didn’t exactly get a warm reception when it was re-revealed a few months ago. It was criticized for seeming to rely heavily on quick time events. Is this the case with the as yet unknown Xbox One title? With the November 22nd release date drawing near, it was possible to play the challenge portion of Ryse at a recent event.

Challenges are an additional mode, separate from any story elements that Ryse may contain. The whole point of challenges is to literally jump in on any map and take on a group of objectives. An idea that has been seen in many other video-games. And yet, it felt somewhat revitalized when played on next generation hardware.

Waiting for the "Well Said" next to your name.

OT.....Nope no OT, you are a plague in the gaming society and should be removed from this planet via a noose around your neck attached to an asteroid fly round the planet Cheese Grater.

nah, he's a troll but that's taking things waaaay to far joe90, just don't feed him and he'll go away.

Besides what chaps his azz even more is comments like this from the author who's actually had hands on the game:

"If anything, Ryse: Son of Rome far exceeded any expectations I had prior to actually trying the game. If the story is anything like these challenges, then this is certainly one launch title that can possibly warrant the purchase of the Xbox One required to play it."

No matter how you feel about the game, some of these points made by the hands on player seem interesting.

I'm a dedicated X1 fan who will get this game. But I really wanted a realistic approach to this game without the use of magical powers like in God Of War or Dante's Inferno. I wanted real gladiator stuff. But I'll still try it.

Not sure but I think you mean the "God Power", which correct me if I'm wrong looks like its only part of the co-op multiplayer in the Gladiator Colliseums....which understandably I think they are just trying to vary things for that mode to keep it interesting and of course chaotic/traps/fire/arrows/spea rs etc that a multiplayer needs to remain playable for any extended period of time.

I was referring to what they were describing in the 7th paragraph of the article. I did skip thru a lot of it tho so maybe I'm wrong.

Its a beta version it has glitches not even final code.
The same can be said about KZSF MP feed back from gamers at pax prime.

Relax we get it it's not ready. No need to get your panties in a bunch

Whos brilliant idea was it to make a Co-op mode and not a 4v4, Last Standing etc etc. no one will play this after a 10 hour campaign + maybe 4 hours in co-op. This game is destined to be in the used game box in Gamestop.

What are they going to have, explorable easter eggs lmao, will they even give players control of the camera??. No!!!! You need to look at the AWESOME slo-mo TO THE XTREME! TO THE MAX! For every kill!

When they first announced the game I wanted it badly, because there are so few games in this setting.
