Microsoft's Losses Begin November 22nd, but Sony's Victory Ends November 30th

CCC Says: "The dust has settled, speculation has been cast aside, and gamers can finally clock out of the rumor mill: We now know the release dates of Sony and Microsoft’s next-gen consoles. Microsoft today revealed that the Xbox One will hit shelves in 13 markets on November 22nd—exactly one week after the PS4’s Gamescom-announced November 15th date. The news comes in stark contrast to proceeding, Walmart-flavored rumors hinting that the Xbox One would beat the PS4 by a full week but, nevertheless, drives the final stake in into the coffin for console obscurity." (Industry, Microsoft, PS4, Sony, Xbox One)

nothing speaks as loudly as “cheaper, sooner, and more.”

"the true competition—the console war that everyone is raving about—will only begin when November calms down. Because at that point, consoles will remember what they’re all about—you know, games—and promises will stop selling systems."

bring it.

Gotta love when so called "experts" say that the Xbox One is going to have nothing but loss in its future before the console is even out. (sarcasm) Look at the PS3. "It's DOOMED!!!! NO GAMES, MORE EXPENSIVE!!!!!" yeah.... and guess what happened. It did really well. So yeah, don't count the Xbox One out yet, especially when it's not even out yet.

The PS3 did nothing on the same level as the Xbox One, just saying. I'm so tired of people comparing the both.

I'm not sure what'll happen next gen, I mean anything can happen.

Okay, you've got a freat point there. My bad. :P however, At least MS is actually listening to us gamers (even if its just about money duh ). They also upgraded the console specs when no one even asked them to. Anyway, both will do fine and i cant wait to see what all games both consoles have in store for us for the next ten years!

Sorry it's because of the company that it was supported by. Microsoft doesn't carry anywhere near that much clout in gaming. They've don't have a vast first party portfolio. It was Sony's first and 2nd party games that showed the power of ps3. Having numerous Game of The Year games exclusively your console speaks volumes. You're basing your assumption that Microsoft and Sony are equal. Microsoft doesn't really work themselves out of jams, they just pull out a checkbook. They should used their checkbook to invest in buying up indies. This way when they say "only on xbox" they can actually mean it.

BOTH of these consoles are going to be fantastic. This site attracts so many fanboys that don't want to accept that fact.

Can't tell if referring to CCC or N4G...
FanOfRootBeer  +   225d ago
The article is literally about how nothing is decided and that both consoles are competitive and relevant. The author points out that the PS4 is going to win November. That's it.

Both consoles will be fine. Look how many games are coming out for them post-launch!

N4G might be a ghost town for awhile.

"N4G might be a ghost town for awhile"

Until the droughts happen.

:(

Haha. I sincerely hope that doesn't happen too often this generation. With so many new indie developers, it's hard to imagine.

xbox-one is getting ready to do battle in the good old USA. With over 250 billion dollars backing them MS will be tough to beat.
Minato-Namikaze  +   225d ago
I'm gonna fall for this trap. You do understand that the Xbox division isnt getting the full backing of the company? They cant just throw money at this division because alot of people in the company dont want it or are just indifferent to it.
Belking  +   225d ago
You don't know what you're talking about....lol
It's better to have it and not share than to not have it and not be able to share. 250 billion is 250 billion anyway you look at it. You don't know know jack about what they can and can't throw at the division.
Hicken  +   225d ago
The Xbox doesn't get to use all 250 billion.

Enough with the BS.
