PS Vita end of 2013 Preview

All right, so maybe you need some convincing when it comes to the Vita and its library of new releases. That is completely understandable, since Sony’s handheld has laid pretty much silent since its 2012 release. One could argue that there hasn’t been enough noteworthy games or publishers bringing content to the little guy, but that all seems to be changing before this holiday season. If this short list of upcoming releases is any indication, the Vita might be getting its much-needed second wind. (Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster: Collector’s Edition, Killzone Mercenary, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, PS Vita, Sony, Tearaway, Ys: Memories of Celceta)

I have TOO MANY vita games, just beat Dragon's Crown with the Knight, not going to get to finish Muramasa when Killzone MErc comes out. My girlfriend just got Rayman Legends, and after Tearaway comes out there will be remote play for PS4...are you kidding me?

I dont know which idiots are saying, "PS Vita has no Games!" I have two PS Vitas, and between my wife and I, we could barely keep up with all the Vita games. Myself, I have at least 6 games that i have not opened up yet to play. Im still playing PS+ games that i downloaded. I'm getting my ass kicked left and right in Soul Sacrifice but for some reason(s) i cant put that game down. My wife is playing the Killzone Beta and also dragon crown. So the statement that "vita has no games" is untrue.

RANT OVER.

It doesn't have enough. When you can count the big hitters for the year in one hand then you know there's a lack.

When people start pinning their hopes on one or two future games to save a console then you know there should be more games.
Just lol at how people are reacting to KZ M reviews that are less than 8/10. They are treating it like it's their savior and reviewers are blashpeming against it.

Vita doesn't have games. Not enough anyway.

Count the "big hitters" on one hand, huh?

Muramasa
Soul Sacrifice
Killzone
Tearaway
Toukiden
DOA 5 Plus
Dragon's Crown
Guilty Gear
Hotline Miami
MLB 13
Ratchet and Clank
Jak and Daxter
Rayman
Ys
Batman Arkham Origins
FIFA
Lego ANYTHING
The Walking Dead

You're right. I've got 19 fingers on my hands.

Oh, lemme guess: you'll decide certain games aren't "big hitters" because they don't appeal to you, right? In the end, that's all that matters. Nevermind that not everybody is you. The only definition of a "big hitter" is what you say it is, right?

The Vita has plenty of games. More games than any Vita owner actually has time to play. Especially if they've got a home console.. or a life.

Troll harder.

@Bundi

Could be said about any console/handheld

2DS litterally only got one game I would play, which is Shin Megami Tensei IV.

IMO 2DS "doesn't have games. Not enough anyway"

You decided that those games were big hitters but then you turn around and say I can't say what big hitters are?

For me it is pretty simple. Big hitter is a game that is both a few critical and sales hit on that platform.

Was Fifa 13 on Vita a critical hit? Nope. Sales? Nope. I don't expect this year to b different since it has been said to be just a re-skin.

I'm not even gonna go into those niche titles you listed there as being big hits like Muramasa and Ys.
Then you go all crazy and list duds like Jak and Daxter.
Batman origins is a wild card and could go either way.
The last Ratchet and Clank released on Vita was a commercial dud, didn't light up metacritic either
I don't even know what Toukiden is which goes to show how much of a big hitter it is...
The Walking Dead was a big hit yes...last year when it mattered.

Vita's true big hitters in my opinion
Rayman
Killzone
Tearaway
Soul Sacrifice

That's exactly my point. You claim there aren't any big hitters, or not many, but that's based solely on your opinion.

If you're gonna list em, recognize the quality of the game and the power of the franchise.

Even if I don't like Call of Duty, for example, I know the power the franchise has. You may not be interested in the "niche titles," but good sense tells you they sell well enough to warrant significant interest.

Games like Toukiden, Muramasa, and others have their crowds, and people will buy a Vita for it.

Hell, even the "big hitters" you list are fairly niche. The only one that doesn't count is Killzone, and even that's rather limited by the fact that it's on a hahdheld, where FPS doesn't have a strong presence.

Folks will buy The Walking Dead or FFX for Vita for the ability to have it portable. Dragon's Crown provided a big boost for Vita sales, Ys will likely do the same.

And, honestly, you not knowing about a game doesn't mean it's not a "big hitter." Just means you don't know anything about that game. Your ignorance is your problem.
