A Photo showing the Nintendo 2DS alongside the 3DS and the DSXL. It shows that the console is smaller than its counterparts overall which is a surprise considering it looks visibly more bulky in the promo shots.
I just hope the next thing they release is a 3DS XL Lite, simply a 3DS XL just more slim with an extra analog finally built in.
Doubt it, though I'd be counting on a 2DS xl in clamshell form for the adults wanting a cheaper 3ds xl if the 2DS becomes successful.
Doesn't the regular 3DS fill the position of both '3DS XL Lite' and '2DS XL Clamshell'?
Nintendo could fall prey to having too many skus on their handheld. I understand why they did the 2ds because of the 7 and under thing with the 3d on eye development.
@mewhy32 I can see where your coming from but I think Nintendo can get away with the 2DS, 3DS and 3DSXL as there are 3 different price points and 3 different prices for 3 different parts of the market. If they start to introduce more then I think they could be in trouble but the 3 as they are could should be ok.
@Chard The regular 3ds doesn't have the bigger screen of an xl. There's potential for a 2ds xl clamshell for adults who can't see 3d and would rather shell out for a cheaper version of an 3ds xl. It'd would be probably be a lot easier to produce too since they'll just have to replace the 3DS xl screen with a non 3d screen and do a bit of cosmetic changes to set it apart from an xl. If I already didn't have a 3ds xl and they'd release one I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
