The VGU staff discusses the recent "shots" that have been fired back and forth by executives at Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony.
i love it goddammit
You love it ... ? You would be the first to have a nervous breakdown if it was MS doing it.
nah not really :/
@Super How are those breakdowns doing for you? I like little jabs, but you have to be able to back up what you say. Like when MS said they would kill Sony at E3, then they got their behind handed to them
@Maria http://next-generationsyste... Enjoy, great laughs. I actually hope Sony carrys on like this because they'll get to the point where the make a fool of themselves again :D @below: not even nearly as epic as Sony making a complete fool of themselves. At least it made them shut up for seven years straight :)
When either of the big 3 are taking jab they're just feeding their fanboys. Jesus once said "Fanboy shall not live on jabs alone but only on every word that comes from the mouth of the Big 3"
@Dirty Yeah, you would you. How do I feel about companies taking shots at each other? http://youtu.be/k7nsBoqJ6s8 What Genesis does Nintendon't That is all. Oh sorry wrong generation.
they get paid to do it and that to me is fine, but when gamers do it comes across as insecure fanboys.
It depends, I think when they directly criticize their competitors, it looks pretty unprofessional.. like the Danish Microsoft guy claiming he thinks the ps4 is just a slightly more powerful ps3. I think that's overstepping the mark. I think things like the game sharing video by Sony though got it right, they didn't directly reference Microsoft or the Xbox One but the implications were there and they pulled off the humour perfectly.
Nintendo: Desperate MicroSoft: In Denial Sony: Cocky (But since when is cocky a bad thing, eh? c; ) Yup.
Awesome cuz then you can really see who the butt hurt people are.
I love it! Just like any PPV lead up to Boxing/MMA there is alot of trash talking. I'm just waiting for the main event now to see who wins :D Kind of would be nice to see Kaz, Reggie, and Whomever the xbox guy is now in a fight ;)
my favorite was when sony absolutely and utterly humiliated microsoft by saying ''we were consistent unlike other companys'' they were destroyed, and i loved every goddamn second.
They sure were destroyed alright ... utterly and totally destroyed ...
yes, MS has had its *** handed to them at every turn since their initial xbone reveal. so much so that they had to reverse virtually every single decision they have made on the system. did they happen to let you keep the part of the brain they cut out?
Really? I was absolutely in ecstasy when I found out about the Wii u's horrible sales numbers, I just get a kick out of watching Nintendo utterly fail Lol I can't wait to see Nintendo drop out of the market! (Now let's see how many take me seriously)
"(Now let's see how many take me seriously)" Funny how you have to put that disclaimer there to make it seem like you're not being serious lol. Too embarrassing to admit that you have a genuine hate for an inanimate object?
The fact that you even took me seriously is worrisome Lmao It must've stung to see my anti-Nintendo comment, eh? What's that condition called where one is emotionally attached to an inanimate object's well being? Gonna have to google search this Lol
As long as it is logical and mature, I do not mind. For instance Reggie's digs made no sense.
Not to you.... "everything will look better on a ps4" is more your language right? The person that demands links and proof on other claims out side of a ps4. As long as its true... Its all good, sometimes you have to flex..
Yer you right. How didn't I see this before. Thank you young buynit. You have shown me the way /s If you see I mentioned Reggie sepcifically because he is the only jab I didn't like because it made no sense. He talks about games being important and the other consoles line up being "meh" but the people who bought a Wii U know that they haven't exactly had many games since its launch (especially on the day of release). It has been pretty dry
I think it back fires if they are too direct and there is no humor. They need to be careful to turn off some potential buyers by seeming too arrogant.
This. Unfortuantly every company (Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft) have went too far with some of their stuff.
Company is a collective term, 1 or 2 people saying things doesn't really constitute the ethos of the company as a whole...
Exactly. Companies aren't doing anything. Just more stupid human tricks from all sides.
It is hilarious but doeskin have any effect on what console I will purchase though.
"Sega Does what Nintento Don't." When haven't they? It honestly made the industry entertaining outside of games and showed that there were people inside the companies who enjoyed and had a passion for their work. That's why Kevin Butler was such a hit. Crash Bandicoot when he went trash talking at Nintendo. The only reason its not "funny" now is that MS beat themselves bloody for Sony to rub salt in the wounds. Likewise Nintendo is trying to impudently jibe at others when they've messed up.
This happen in all generation.. remember the arrogance of Sony in the start of this gen? here the quote of Ken kutaragi: The next generation doesn't start until we Sony say it does. Another one: Beating us for a short moment is like accidentally winning a point from a Shihan [karate master], and Microsoft is still not a black belt. Yeha, Sony are pretty hilarious..
It's not necessarily funny becasue of the jabs themselves, but to see how anal devastated some drones get after their favourite company gets criticized.
I'm sure the fanboys love it. I do not.
I just think it's unprofessional.
I don't really care because I'm not a fanboy.
I personally think that its extremely unprofessional and is one of the reasons I don't like Sony as much anymore. considering most of their E3 event was just them jabbing at Microsoft's policies, which I thought those policies were stupid by the way, it just seems that they could of presented themselves in a more dignified manner. I can't think of any times that Microsoft jabbed sony, please tell me if I'm wrong, but I don't really like them for different reasons. As for Nintendo's Reggie saying "Meh" to the other consoles lineup, Though I would say it was unprofessional, of coarse I wouldn't call him a very professional person as it is, he was asked his oppinion on it. He didn't make it known on his own agenda. For the most part Nintendo has avoided attacking the other manufacturers recently, but have been offenders in the past. Mainly when Sega was still manufacturing
I like it especially if a good one like sony did with the shirt. Not like sony at the Gamescom conference.
I don't feel anything. They make these comments to get the fanboys riled up. Then the fanboys spread the word about and do some of the marketing work for them. The only winners here are the corporations.
they shouldnt have too i mean a real gamer would play any game he or she likes despite what brand it is, all of this is because of fanboy wars, so now the companies have to take shots at one another to ensure that they have what you want, me i have playstion , nintendo, and mircosoft because they all have something i like.
I think it's funny. Nintendo and Sega threw uppercuts and hay makers at ech other. The shots MS and Sony throw at each other are just jabs.
I don't think the bashing is necessary - but I do know that people sure love kissing Sony's butt. When they do it - all people do is laugh and cheer. But it seems like when MS does it - it's suddenly a big problem. On Nintendo's side - all Reggie did was say 'Meh' and people lost their heads. I guess it just brings out the immaturity of the different fan-bases to the max.
It happens every day. It's part and parcel of competitive business. I'm not saying it's right, necessarily, but it's just what happens. I'm indifferent; I've made my pre-order...
