Here's How Much Space Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Will Take Up On Your Wii U

Nintendo Life ''Every Nintendo fan loves hearing about download sizes for major Wii U and 3DS titles — mainly due to the fact that whenever a new game is released you usually have to decide which title you've going to expunge from your console's internal memory because you still haven't gotten around to buying a bigger SD card (in the case of the 3DS) or purchasing an external hard drive (in the case of the Wii U).''

1792mb. Not too bad.
I haven't invested too heavily into Nintendo digital products for 2 reasons.
1) I don't have that much space.
But more importantly,
2) Nintendo needs to adapt to the systems used by MS and Sony. Downloads and purchases should be attached to your profile/ID, not the system.
I have hundreds of $$ invested in XBLA and PSN downloads, because I know if my systems break, I can buy another one and just redownload everything.

CaptainPunch1900d ago

Yeah Nintendo needs to step up in that department, it would suck losing all your downloads because your console broke.

Misaka_x_Touma1900d ago

who fault is that when you don't take care of your product.

What?! How is it the customer's fault if the console fails?

I would argue that Nintendo consoles are usually fairly reliable and there are measures to help make the replacement process easier (Club Nintendo keeps a record of your downloads). But that risk really is still there.

That's still a problem and it's still not on par with the competition which lets you just retrieve your account and get your downloads no problem.

I believe Nintendo should be free to do their own thing, but as long as they make newer consoles I feel there are certain standards they ought to meet if they want to avoid criticism.

Buy yourself a toshiba 1TB HDD then you tramp i did only £60 very slick looking as well.... now i have a WiiU with 1TB HDD all for £310 and with the best indie support i'm very happy.

Summons751900d ago

They are attached to the user name.... As for digital purchases because of space, a 2tb external HDd is 50-100 bucks so there should be no problem with that. I have an 1tb on my wiiu with AC 3 and blops2 bring it to my friends all the time.

Lubu1900d ago

They are attatched to the system. If your Wiiu fails, you have to send it to Nintendo for repairs, if its not repairable, they will send you a returned one and transfer the licences over for you.
If it fails on you and you choose to repair it else where and is not repairable, if you get a new system, their is no way to download our games again. The licences are tied to the system, not your profile.

The 360 had a 60%+ failure rate IIRC. Sometimes it is how the console is made.

1.75GB that rather small. Well of course it a Full GameCube HD Remake built off Zelda Tech Demo Engine.

LOL_WUT1900d ago

Sucks for those 8GB Wii U owners i'm down to 17GB already (32gb Wii U) lol. ;)

Misaka_x_Touma1900d ago (Edited 1900d ago )

LOL WUT?! I have the 8GB model and external hardrive with 200GB left.

Try harder.

I have Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, Lego City Undercover, Bit Trip Runner 2, Pikmin 3, Trine 2 DX, Tank x3 and about 11 VC games.

marloc_x1899d ago

I have a LOT of stuff on my Nintendo, and I have pretty nice Options for external memory..or let me say.. choices?

Lucreto1900d ago

you can, but u ll need usb adapter, so it will become like flash drive.. still better to buy hdd with more space

Reeze1900d ago

I feel really stupid for asking this, because there's probably an obvious explanation (and I don't have Xbox Live Gold or PS+). If the downloads are tied to your account, what's stopping your friend from signing into your account and using your games if you give them your password?

This is a serious question. I'm just curious.

paydayp1900d ago

i believe you can only be logged in one place at a time.
if u log in at a lot of different places they will contact u or even maybe ban your account.
I think, not sure if i´m right.
but if you have a waterproof system with friends it maybe can be done.

but this what i think i never looked this up or anything.
there probably more things to it

wishingW3L1900d ago (Edited 1900d ago )

it all depends on the kind of DRM that was implemented for the game and the fact that you can't have more than 2 active accounts at a time. Some games allow you to share and play the same game with multipe people, usually no more than 5 example: MvC2.

Others require you to wait 24 hours before the game can be active on another console because it can only be played in 1 console at a time, so when you want it back you have to wait 24 more hours (example: GT5: Prologue).

Others only work based on active account so you can actually share it with you and 1 more friend. But based on active account is bit dangerous because if the console stops working and the account was active there then Sony will only deactivate once once and then you can do it from your PC but only once a month. And without an active account you can't even play online... etc.

Seriously, digital games and the DRM they come with is not worth the hassle.

BTW, everything @paydayp said is false.

paydayp1900d ago

ah okee i didn´t know.
only wrote what came to mind.

but what you said is that only for playstation or for xbox also?

because i really believed i could only be with one account in one place with my xbox

Reeze1900d ago

Okay, thank you both for the comments. :)

cyclindk1900d ago (Edited 1900d ago )

I read that so wrong... I thought there was gonna be a game called "Space Zelda."

Like, outer space.
