Blacklight: Retribution developer talks about why they brought the free-to-play FPS to PS4, and how PlayStation has changed.
Dedicating a huge portion of your E3 conference and Gamescom conference cannot be interpreted as "lip service." Anyone who says this is just a hater. A man doesn't see how they could dedicate a huge amount of some of their most important time of the year to indies and be accused of "lip service"
That's obvious. Looks like they're going to have a lot of great indies -- Resogun, Rime, EGTTR, to name a few. I'm looking forward to trying them out. More games is always a good thing. :)
One of my favorite things about Steam is the robust indie library. I hope console-only gamers can finally have the same experience with the PS4.
I am glad to see a lot of free indie games as well as ftp like this, I don't buy digital, I need to own the disc if I'm putting my money into it (dead nation was the exeption) SO I am glad to see things like secret poncho and resogun (both amazing looking games) will be free with plus so I get to experience them.
Microsoft has to be feeling some of this.
Yeah, they're feelin it. http://static.themetapictur...
That was after PSN hack? Skips, I love and still play uncharted, but its a tomb raider clone. Naughty dog are a great developer, but do not go overboard.
^ lol the same Tomb Raider clone that the new Tomb Raider reboot copied? :) Wake me up when Tomb Raider is anywhere near as successful as Uncharted.
@YNWA96 - The new TR was more a clone of UC than UC ever was of TR.
Most people have a misconception of the term "indie", they associate it with weird, low budget, 2d, kids games etc, but this game proves that you can still get triple A experiences from indie developers, so to the people complaining about the PS4 having "nothing but indies", you can stop your whining & get it into your heads that the PS4 is the right place to be for the next gen console gamers, because you'll get the best of both worlds & by the looks of things there is going to be tons of em' going by Sonys current form.
Sony are one of the few that are sincere and don't lie and mislead their fans.
Lol... Sony is in the business of making money just like any other corp out there. They want your money too, whether people on this site believe it or not. They do lie but they don't call it that....lol
Riiiiigghhhtt... Because they have changed policies and lied about being able to change policies then changing them anyway. Sonys stance is firm, of course they want to make money, what company doesn't?? But ever since I bought my first playstation I have always been proud of being part of the playstation nation.
How many 180s did Sony perform? They never had those anti-consumer decision Microsoft had set up for next gen. Look to Microsoft if you want the greediest, POS gaming division to ever enter the competition. The fact that they still have fans after trying to treat consumers that way just goes to show how much garbage Xbox fans willingly put up with.
Sony has always been known for taking action
yea, like the way hey took action and took things away from ps3 like BC... and they took action and decided to charge for multiplayer too...lol
here comes a troll dodododo here comes a troll and i say its alright, and Microsoft who lost a console gen with first xbox but felt like they earned the right to come out of nowhere and charge for online yeah ok they really took charge.
I'm starting to go back and play a lot of the indie games that I got with PS+ and I just bought Limbo for 6 dollars and Journey for 3.75. I've never been a huge indie game person but I'll give it a shot because there a lot of cool looking games coming out on PS4. There's nothing wrong with having a multitude of games. The best part is Sony isn't making these games in house so all of their worldwide studios are free to make PS4 full games. I hope Xbox One gets on the indie bandwagon because like I said, the more games the better for everyone.
I was never into indies either but I recently started trying them out.Damn am I happy,it's like my eyes have been opened to another side of gaming.
just took a look at 'Everybody's Gone to the Rapture'. looks really really good. CryEngine 3. from the short snippet graphics look like TLOU. sounds very survival adventure.
Said it before I'm saying it again give them a few years, one of these indie devs is going to become the next big thing thanks to the support Sony and Nintendo are giving them, not to mention kickstarter is making it all the more easier to bring the creators vision to life and not some generic shit.
The dedication that Sony has to gamers and developers is really paying off for them. It's well deserved.
the indies will be the games that you get to make fun for yourself for the gaps between the big titles from the sony first party studios
Dude, that guy looks like a viking, that good enough for me to trust his words
