Hideki Kamiya Would Like To Make A Bayonetta Spin-Off For 3DS Starring Jeanne

At the Penny Arcade Expo, Siliconera asked Kamiya if he would be interested in developing a Nintendo 3DS game, given Platinum’s ongoing relationship with Nintendo. Kamiya had not one, but two ideas he said he’s like to work on, given the opportunity.

Wow, Nintendo must be treating him real good for him to like them this much.

NYC_Gamer1542d ago

He already wants his studio to become apart of Nintendo

tehpees31541d ago

Thats because Nintendo is the only one willing to go through with publishing their own games. Nobody else is willing to throw bucks at Bayonetta, Vanquish, Madworld or anything else for fear of flopping.

@tehpees3

Nintendo only really saved Bayonetta because they needed some third party software for the Wii U since at the time they were going through a massive draught. At the end of the day all Bayonetta 2 is for is to show people they are interested in third party content. If this fails in sales they won't fund Bayonetta 3.

I think Platinum are taking this as genuine kindness when at the end of the day Nintendo supporting Bayonetta 2 was just "good business"

@ Thepees3

I feel bad for Platinum Games, since no publisher seems to give them a genuine chance. Sega did a terrible job marketing their games in the US and The Wonderful 101 was only really marketed in the Nintendo Directs. It would be one thing if they were huge commercial flops, but some things like Anarchy Reigns were delayed (and people were like "wait that was suppose to come out next week?"), was released (and people were like "wait, that game released?") and flopped.

@Foxtrot

You speak as if any other company would treat it any different. Exclusivity funding is business and not an act of kindess no matter who it involves, so don't pull a double standard on Nintendo.

Nintendo isn't an angel doing this out of the goodness of heart, but they're the one who offered and that's what matters.

No offence but a game like Bayonetta wouldn't be very good on the 3DS in my opinion. A spin off like that would be better on the PSV to be honest with it's dual analogue sticks...you rely on them in the console versions a lot for combos

Yeah if Sony willing to pay up

“Given the chance, I’d like to make a game based on Jeanne from Bayonetta,” Kamiya replied. “Something that’s not as big in scale. Something that’s portable, that you could play in quick sessions, where she’s a history teacher and the kind of fun things that could come out of a scenario like that."

He doesn't want to make a full Bayonetta experience on the 3ds. He wants to make something that's portable and can be played in quick sessions. The 3DS is perfectly capable of that.

Hanadheld games aren't quick session.

Handhelds games have more replay values than console games.

DEATHxTHExKIDx1541d ago (Edited 1541d ago )

I wanna see it happen.

die_fiend1541d ago

I wanna see them make bayonetta on a decent console. Such a waste
