Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s Naoki Yoshida Talks About Casual Players and Classic FF Elements

The Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn development team made a large effort to ensure that casual players that aren’t used to MMORPG will feel right at home in the game (often ruffling some feathers between the most elitist elements of the hardcore fanbase), and they also filled the game to the brim with classic Final Fantasy elements, like summons, magitek armors, chocobos, moogles and more. (Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, PC, PS3, PS4)

Yeah i cant believe im saying this, but i cant wait for FF14 on the ps4. It's huge and will expand greatly. Hopefully it can hold me off till FF15

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.. o wait he already did... NOW GIVE ME MY LIFE BACK! Seriously though, I've not been this hooked by an MMO since I last played WoW.

I'm still torn on whether I should get this game on the PS4 or not. I love Final Fantasy, but have never played an MMO and I don't have a ton of time to sit down and play hours a day. It looks so fun though.

Yeah. Me too. It looks good though. If I were to get into an MMO, I'd probably play this. This or Dragon Quest X (if that ever releases outside of Japan that is).

Unlike XI, it is possible to sit down and do a few things in a short period of time. Really now that I think about it, most of the main methods of gaining exp on here are a bunch of quick little things (quests, leves, FATEs) and nothing really time consuming. Grinding for hours on random enemies in the world is pretty much useless now as it actually provides less experience than the things I mentioned above.

Might as well wait for the ps4 version. Square said they are gonna bring it to the ps4 sooner than you think. Also, you have to buy the game again even if you bought it for the ps3. So ya. Maybe if they do the upgrade at a discount , but they haven't said anything about that.

The game is good but i wish it had party makeups like that of ffxi. Write now it feels like a cluster fu@@. Runing to fates is well.... retarded at best and are we really going quest all the way to 50.
Blackcanary  +   597d ago
don't mind questing all the way to 50 but i do miss the old party format from 11 having to party in dunes from 10-20

and forming a party of 6.
