Konami considered a next-gen version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2

Konami considered developing PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2, the game's producer has revealed, but instead chose to focus on finishing the current-gen version to make it "one of the last great current-gen titles". (Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Why is your PS3 or 360 going to spontaneously combust on either 11/15 or 11/27...I suppose it could be nice but NO it doesn't need to happen considering smart people will still have their 360/PS3

Nah, ready for next gen already! I sold my old consoles for cash for next gen ones, cant wait!

Well, it's already one of the best looking games of this generation. Castlevania needs to continue into the next generation. MercurySteam did an amazing job with riviving it. I'm not sure what they're up to next now that Lords of Shadow 2 has been confirmed to be their last Castlevania, but whatever it is, they need to stay in the game. Maybe start up a new action adventure IP.

I agree and I am looking forward to them correcting my main grips about the game, the camera and framerate. This and Dead Souls 2 are the last two games I am getting for the current gen. I have stopped buying current gen games cause I have the new consoles preordered. From the article it sounds like they were to far into developement to start up a PS4 and X1 version. Would have been nice though.

Heavenly sword was PS3 lunch titles hope there ll be HS2 for 2014

Wouldn't it be cool if the GOW team and Santa Monica is secretly making HS2? They could really do wonders for the game and turn it into a franchise, Heavenly Sword should have enough cult following to be successful with a next gen version.

I'll be getting it on the PC so I don't need a next gen console version.

when i first played Castlevania: Lords of Shadows on ps3 i was amazed by the graphics, this sequel must go next gen 'cause it needs full hd res and anti alias,720p is unsatisfying for this game with great visuals

That version already exists on PC as well as constant 60fps or more (depending if you want the limiter turned off) full 1080p and every single special effect you can think of. A lot of people don't realize that the PC version of Lords of Shadow 2 is gonna be the next gen version when it launches. Especially considering that the producer already said that all of the assests in the game are "Next Gen Ready" How much you wanna bet the next gen version of Lords of Shadow 2 is just sitting on their PC's back at the office waiting to be released along side the console versions this February.
