Madden NFL 25 on iOS does free-to-play in all the wrong ways | Pixelated Sausage

"This nickel and dime nature is all over Madden NFL 25 and turns what could have been a fun game into a tedious, annoying money grab--why not let people play against the AI for free, letting them earn energy for playing online by beating the AI or pulling off big plays?" - Marc Kusnierz, Pixelated Sausage (iPad, iPhone, Madden NFL 25, Mobile)

At the end of the day, it still free 2 play so what is the point of this article. It not EA is forcing you to buy the micro-transactions.

The problem is the whole "fee to play" model they try (note the word "try") to force on you. They're saying "Hey, this game is free to play...but we're going to barrage you with so many limitations and pay walls you feel like crap until you finally cave in".

And you make a good point, when a game is free you shouldn't complain about what they throw at you because hey, it's free. But at the same time it's rediculous the amount of things they throw in your face, from the sound of the article it's free to play until you actually want to play.

It's just like when you see amazing deals but then have to sign up for surveys and promotions and emails. At that point you just walk away.

Free to play games have always been a trap. But this model will continue for mobile titles as it gives the developer more money in the long run and counters pirating.

Angry birds aren't! I have all the versions and have never spend a dime as I don't have to! they update frequently and add many levels while the amount of ads are also very manageable and those free Toons every week...SWEET! it's really hard not to like Rovio!

oh...Bike Race from Top Free Games is also very generous in terms of contents and keep adding them via free updates. so yeah...not all free games are traps!

It's always been a joke. But now we're even closer to putting even football plays behind a paywall.
