Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Review | CheatCC

CCC Says: "When Square Enix decided to end Final Fantasy XIV, the company didn't just shut down the servers. No, it smashed the entire world to pieces: A dragon escaped from prison and wiped out most of Eorzea.

The idea was to set the stage for rebirth. Today, a completely overhauled version of the game is online, with a story set in the wake of the catastrophe, a new graphics engine, and a seemingly endless series of quests to complete."

The story is too old to be commented.

I agree with everything the reviewer said. The game has a slow start doing a bunch of fetch quests but after level 15 the game really takes off. The instances are very well done and require strategy forcing you to work together as an actual group to overcome bosses. I'm playing on the ps3 and the only gripe I have is being able to chat. I easily overcame this by purchasing the ps3 keypad that attaches to the controller. The ps3 controls work great. Each set of skills is available by pressing either right or left trigger then pressing the subsequent button to execute your attack. You can quickly switch to another set of actions by holding right shoulder button and pressing the same subsequent buttons. So far I'm having a blast and this is the first final fantasy in years that can rightfully bear the final fantasy name.

Its just HYPE! At most i'd give FF14ARR a 7/10 (3.5/5), its mediocre. It doesnt suck but surely isnt great. It doesnt do anything particularly great. The Fate system is a less smooth version of GW2's Dynamic event system (and yes GW2 does it better), FF14ARR is released with no PVP whatsoever (yes not even a simple 1v1 dueling system), Leveling feels like grinding, crafting jobs have to be leveled like actual class jobs which cause things more become more time consuming, you have to run everywhere (at lvl22 u unlock the chocobo but mounts run just as fast as players without chocobos), i could go on and on. Don't get me wrong, the game is playable and can be enjoyable, but is no where near as good as ppl are claiming it to be. And no, in what way what so ever is this game worth a monthly fee. If that is the case than GW2 should be charging players up the a** right now because that is definitely a smoother playing mmo.
