PS VITA Price Drop Won't Come Into Affect Until PS4 Launch?, "No" says Yoshida

At GamesCom 2013, Sony announced a massive price drop for their handheld console "PS VITA".

This price drop was supposed to come into effect immediately after the announcement at GamesCom 2013, but confusion erupted when few GameStop employees started telling consumers that PS VITA price drop won't apply until the launch of PS4.

The story is too old to be commented.

Isn't the price drop already happening? I'm sure it went cheaper on places like Amazon straight after GamesCom.

Article for hits. Simple as that.

Yes, I just bought another Vita for 199 at best buy here in Chicago...

shadow18spirit1450d ago

ya its like 200$ now , how much will it be after the drop

sdozzo1450d ago

$200 is reasonable. Stop.

GdaTyler1450d ago (Edited 1450d ago )

How much lower do you want it? The memory card prices are the only things that need a drop right now in terms of the Vita.

DJMarty1450d ago (Edited 1450d ago )

Thats RRP, so it's up to retailers to price lower.

WeAreLegion1450d ago

It did drop at every retailer.

Firstly (to the submitter) it's "effect" not "affect"

Secondly...wait no secondly this is just pure nonsense.

Seems like nonsense to me as well. The Vita was $249.99 here in the US (at least in my area/online) and now its $199.99. However, I have been on the receiving end of GameStop's "malarkey" before, so it wouldn't surprise me if they were passing out this info as gospel.

EDIT: I also notice how the link no longer works for said article. So....yeah. Nonsense.

NVM, now the link works again. My bad.
