Looking Back At The 7000 Series – Has AMD Missed Its Opportunity?

HardwarePal: Since the launch of the 7000 series, with its flagship model the AMD Radeon 7970, in December 2011 it was clear that AMD had an outstanding product. The new GCN architecture was a step further than the previous 6000 series with improved overall performance per watt, GPGPU computing, power savings (Zero Core technology) and improved tessellation, AMD’s 7970 was king of the hill and Nvidia nowhere in sight.
