Polygon: "Nintendo is trying frantically to fix the wrong problem. With the announcement of its Nintendo 2DS, a 2D-only version of its 3D portable system, Nintendo has codified what it believes is the company's number one problem: price."
Uurrgh, is it just me or is this thing ugly?
It's a dual-screen device that can't be folded closed! It's definitely extremely bulky looking lol. I'll be sticking with my XL.
Seriously how much does hinges cost... well maybe they went for this unibody design as not to confuse the average consumer.
They are trying a new design out on the public to test their reaction. The next Nintendo handheld WON'T have a dual screen. It will be like the Wii U gamepad.
this is only one screen separated by plastic on top, they saved some money by doing this, all of it is touch screen, it was confirmed http://nintendoeverything.c...
Seriously! WTF is that thing it looks awful. Sorry to anyone who disagrees but it does,
its not just you. its hideous.
Gotta agree with this piece. Nintendo just made the cheapest 3ds possible. no portable design, single speaker, and no 3d. The name 2ds is just awful.
2014 Nintendo release the Wii noU without touch screen.
That only plays wii games
aside from the price, 2d, and imo horrible looks.... i just can't understand why they keep making new models without a second circle pad. i know not all games use it, but how could it hurt to add it
The ugly designs and lack of a second analog are the main reasons why I can't hop on board. If they had made the 2DS look similar to the DSLite with 2 analogs.. Day 1.
So it's made without hinges and without 3d because it's made specifically for kids. The 3d isn't made for kids 7 or under and every kid I've ever seen with a DS breaks the hinges on the system, it's literally a huge problem. We think this is ridiculous simply because we're not the market for this thing.
Oh I'm sorry, I forgot that all my friends and I broke the hinges on our Gameboy Advanced SPs when we were kids... Oh wait.. we didn't.
All my sons friends had at least one DS broken at the hinge, my friend had her granddaughter break the hinge on her DS, my son has an old DS that's just barely hanging on at the hinge. It's just a real life problem that's solved by eliminating the hinge part in the first place. It's not pretty by any means but it serves a purpose.
Maybe cause If I broke my electronics, I would get beat. So it never happened.
use 3DS XL in design. include the mother ****** another joypad....so you can't sell us another circle pro pad and i'll be very pleased. this is just...WHY???
Nintendo needs a big wake up call. Hopefully this 2D does the same thing to their handhelds what Wii U is doing to their consoles atm.
It's for kids 7 and under. It's not really being targeted towards the gamers like myself and others who prefer our regular 3DS or 3DSXls. Also, hoping that Nintendo's handhelds are going to fail? This October? When Pokemon X & Y are launching? Sorry man, you ain't getting your wish once that comes out.
...my god thats the worst handheld design ive ever seen. -_-
Next, Nintendo will release a Wii u without the game pad.
