Skylanders Swap Force developer Vicarious Visions has discussed improvements coming to next-gen versions.
Head of studio Guha Bala explained that both next-gen versions will have additional graphical features, including 1080p resolution.
"All the geometry and the art has been revisited, so we're able to take full advantage of the graphical horsepower," he told Digital Spy.
"There's some advanced rendering techniques like parallax inclusion mapping, things like that bring out much, much more detail in the rocks and rock formations.
"Those things are available to a certain extent on the PS3, the 360 and Wii U, but they're enhanced that much more because we can support a more sophisticated algorithm on [next-gen consoles]."
Elsewhere, the PS4 version will support "limited functionality" of the DualShock 4 touchpad, as well as Remote Play when that becomes available on Vita.
