John Woo Possibly Making Metroid Film

Director of such films like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Windtalkers, and Mission: Impossible 2, John Woo is world renowned for his deliverance of top notch action and slow motion cut scenes.

Supposedly, John Woo is to announce a new Metroid film at Comic Con this year. One image has been popping up over the Internet featuring Samus' helmet and the date, May 2, 2009. John Woo bought the rights to make a Metroid film back in 2004, but no other announcements have been made since.

John Woo Presents: Another Bad Video Game Film

Ill be happy if Samus can walk up hand rails on stairs, jump from very high and land on his chest, or go in slow motions to kill all the Chinese bad guys.

he did a great job with the second appleseed movie. if its an animated flick, i wouldn't doubt its quality

I wonder when we could have game graphics like it. In the special features he said he want to direct an animated film himself as he was only a producer in Apple seed exmachina.

I think it would be funnier if Tarantino made it, at the end of the movie, Samus would finally take off her mask, and it would be a 45 year old dude. It would be funny as hell.

I'm sure Iron Man's film success will spark greater interest in a Metroid film, but I 100% doubt Nintendo nor any film distribution wants John Woo anywhere near it

I know he owns the film rights, but still

Iron man isn’t successful. Then people will probably be like “not this again”.

I think Iron Man is going to do extremely well (probably better than The Dark Night and Hulk since its appeal is more universal). Speed Racer, on the other hand, isn't going to do so well, especially coming a week after Iron Man.
