Infobarrel - Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Review

Final Fantasy XIV was a Final Fantasy based MMO by Square Enix that released in 2010. However, upon its launch, it had several major problems that made it unplayable for most people and causing it to be the worst disaster in Final Fantasy history. Square Enix realized that major changes needed to be made, so they ended what is now referred to as Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 in November 2012, by dropping a giant Bahamat filled moon on the world. Now in August 2013, Final Fantasy XIV is back anew in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. (Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, PC, PS3) 4.5/5

Someone seriously reviewed a MMORPG on the day of its launch? Please do get a grip...

I'm not reporting this as lame just out of pity.

THIS!

I was about to make the EXACT same comment.

WTF? And how the heck does someone review an entire MMORPG in time to get a review out on the day of release and score it a 4.5 out of 5? SERIOUSLY?!

while i agree i kinda want SOME kind of review since the game has been out since saturday (early access) so yeah. Infact being a newbee with 4 days in id say its a great mmo but honestly its my first so what do i know. I just know i like it so far and im looking forward to finding more finalfantasy elements from the previous numbers.

lol nowadays its very common that most reviewer do this on 1-2hrs of their gameplay on every game

N4G needs to fix the rating system on the site. It's combining ARR with the original FF14 when ARR is practically an all new game in comparison.

I guess it is just an expansion so it's destined carry those negative reviews.

his level is 31 so he probably seen the game enough i know that the MMOs need time to learn and explore everything but the reviewers, review the "bases only" not every aspect of the game

I do think it's a bit hard to give an MMO review score that quickly. Currently, like most MMO's that are more popular it's having some technical difficulties. These issues have a 99% chance of getting fixed. But until they do in a timely manner I can't imagine anyone giving a score to it much less a 9/10.

I've probably played it 20 hours between the alpha and prelaunch. It's a good MMO thus far with FF style, great art design, and great music. How good or bad is it, I do not know, I will still probably get bored with it like I have every MMO fairly quickly, but it's been fun.
