db Techno: Mega Pedal for Rock Band Review

db Techno really cannot recommend the Mega Pedal enough. The only issue is that the set-up takes a bit of time and muscle. Once this is all set up though, the new metal pedal feels absolutely fantastic. You will see better response from the pedal, equaling higher scores. You will also feel far more comfortable really getting into songs with the Mega Pedal, with no fear of breaking it like t here was with the plastic pedal.

If you own Rock Band, and you love to play the drums, this is a necessity in db Techno's opinion.

How about stop wasting time playing rock band and buy a real drum kit, and guitars, and then get in a 'Real Band' and play gigs. Its much more fun.

That's like saying, why play CoD4 when you can join the Marine Corps? People play video games to have fun and waste a few hours. You can't just up and play the Guitar/Bass/Drums. It takes years of dedication/passion, while RB only takes minutes and boredom. It took me years to learn Bass, and to this day, i still can't hold a candle to the likes of Victor Wooten or Billy Sheehan.

Just a little something for my brothers. Enjoy :) The cat on Bass is Billy.

Trust me playing is way more fun than playing on 4 plastic pads. And you could probably pick up a kit or a guitar or bass for the price of rock band and this pedal. And yes any instrument takes dedication, but i would rather say i can play guitar/drums/bass whatever than say i can play (insert rock band song here) on expert with 500,000 points.

Playing the real thing is more fun. But not everyone is good at playing said instrument. One of my home boys can't play anything (poor guy). So what? He can pick up and enjoy RB like everyone else. I mean why play GT/PGR/Forza instead of racing in real life? Why can't gamers go outside and play sports instead of playing Madden/NBA ballers/WWE Smackdown? Why don't gamers instead go and join UFC/Pride FC instead of playing Tekken/VF/DoA? Because they don't want to. And we shouldn't judge them or belittle them for it.

Of course it's fun doing stuff in the real world (music, full contact sports, etc...). But sometimes playing in the virtual world is fun too, or else you wouldn't be here discussing about video games. We are all gamers here, we should enjoy gaming.

Ok i will end this argument, but playing rock band and then a real instrument are fairly similar whereas tekken and cod4 are not. And i can understand what you are saying and i agree with you.

we ain't arguing, just a friendly discussion. Nothing more.

No hard feelings, Bubble+ heading your way.

I think that $30 is a little on the high side for this. It is not even the full pedal assembly, just the part that you stomp on gets swapped out and a couple of screws. I would understand if it was the entire assembly with the connection wire and everything, but not for just the pedal itself. I think that I would only order this if my pedal was already broken so that I could get it working again.

My buddy plays real drums, and well he likes to stomp... he split his first plastic pedal in half, and after having his 2nd one for a week, almost split that one. He bought a metal piece like this one, and can stop on that pedal as hard as he wants knowing it won't break....i dunno depends on the person i guess, but i think it was a wise purchase.

By the way do americans consider $30 expensive, as thats about £16, and for a rock band pedal (attachment) that is an insanly cheap price. Considering my real drum pedal was £100 for a single pedal, i would say your getting a very good deal. But then again how much does it cost to mold a piece of metal into a shape.

my friend paid 15 for his btw.. not 30
