Microsoft has explained the differences between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of Zoo Tycoon, revealing that the current-gen version does not support Kinect, has almost half the amount of animals, and is limited to offline single-player only.
Hmmm... this is... something :/ I mean sure, the Xbox One would show how much powerful it is to the Xbox 360 but even so... do things really have to be so limited? Especially since we have seen some Xbox 360/PS3 games with A LOT to see in them in one FOV shot.
the word is fishy.

I never thought of this as a game I would consider buying... but now I am. If they need to scale it back that much for the 360, it must be looking pretty damn nice on the XB1. Just went and watched a demo after that enlightening comment. It does in fact look very nice. I used to love Roller-coaster Tycoon... I'll definitely grab this. Simple layback fun! http://www.youtube.com/watc... colourful, happy... these games always bring a smile to my face. Girlfriend-wooing material. Already got her hooked on FullHouse Poker for the 360.
It is pretty damn nice. But it's overlooked by many.
Definitely understandable. I haven't even bothered to take a close look until right now. Glad I did, too.
"Another we were told about is "Monkey See Monkey Do", a game that uses the Kinect sensor to track body movements and even facial expressions" My imagination just started running wild... in a sadistic sort of way >:D
So it's the better game ? * Offline only ? - That is a plus * Doesn't support Kinect ? - Awesome ! 360 version sounds way better.
So because it removes optional features, that suddenly makes it better? :/ Online is optional. You can have it offline if you wish. Kinect is an option, but not required. The X360 version is smaller and you're only gonna be able to make Zoo's half the size as XB1.
Straight monkey business
lol, i see what you did there
Superior xbox one, then.
The game looks good, and will be a refreshing change from action orientated games. Already pre-ordered and looking forward to building out a zoo. And of course supporting some wildlife charities to boot.
wow zoo tycoon lookignforward to this. btw can i put a senator, congressman or lawyer in one of those cage
Now this makes me wonder. Will Project Spark on the 360 be severely limited like this?
Probably. Project spark has close to infinite world size. There is no way that that is possible on 360. Not even minecraft could do it. And that's not even a graphically intense game.
But Project Spark is different from Minecraft. The world is not really infinite. It's just the level linking that gives it that infinite feel. It's not just one infinite world but, a number of large world that you can continuously link together. I'm thinking the worlds on 360 may not be as big as One but hopefully you can still utilize the level linking.
When I saw Zoo Tycoon listed I was thinking it was some type of joke. Do people actually play this game?
who going play this game ?
Why is it only on Xbox 360 and Xbox One though? That's an odd choice.
Because its an exclusive just like all the other exclusives. Its by frontier Developements, the same people that created the exclusive kinectimals for the 360. They are also the same people behind Elite.
Looked 'em up. They've made some great stuff! Dog's Life was one of my favorite PS2 games! It's an exclusive because Microsoft is publishing. I found that out, too. Makes sense. Still, why wouldn't they at least make a Windows 8 version? Zoo Tycoon is huge on PC.
i believe the dev responsible for this game is owned by ms
Thanks for your help, but they aren't yet. They're just publishing for them, currently.
This annoys me because I loved the first two Zoo Tycoon games on the PC, I have a feeling this game won't be as good. I hope I'm wrong.
Have 3 young sons so this game is actually sitting #1 for me.
