The 6 Weirdest Choices Marvel Made In Their Online Game

Marvel just released an MMORPG set within their universe of superheroes, appropriately titled Marvel Heroes, because why screw around with people's expectations. You get to play as one of their famous characters and battle through endless waves of nefarious villains. I picked the Hulk, because after seeing him go apeshit in The Avengers, I don't understand why you would ever pick anyone but the Hulk. However, instead of fulfilling every superheroic daydream of my fat, lonely childhood, the game quickly devolves into a fantasy camp about being the worst Hulk that has ever existed in the history of the planet. Even worse than Ang Lee's Hulk, or Self-Conscious Naked Hulk from the Hulk Hogan sex tape. (Culture, Marvel Heroes)

So basically the writer is mad because he couldn't "Hulk Smash" through the entire game. It sounds like he wants a fully powered hulk from the beginning. Obviously the hulk is stronger than everyone else in the comics, but everyone in an mmo needs to have equivalent strengths or else everyone will do what you did and pick the Hulk and they would have to rename the game "Hulk Heroes"

Calling Marvel Heroes a MMO is a bit of a stretch. The game is 95% cheap diablo clone and 5% overpriced cash shop. I honestly think the reason they called it a mmo is because they wanted to put a f2p-esque cash shop in the game. While playing I kept thinking "I'd buy this game if it were at the same price point as torchlight".

In the end I got through the entire game with my starter character and put somewhere between 20 and 30 hours in the game. It was alright but I couldn't justify buying a single character for 10$ let alone what they want for the costumes. I ended up not spending any money on the game and left wishing it were just a normal game I could have purchased off steam.

I thought this game was bland. Enviroments were empty and ugly, the gameplay was typical MMO-fare. Just "meh" all over this game.
