Minecraft's Lead Developer Talks Console Versions And Fan Feedback

During E3 2013, Microsoft announced that the runaway hit Minecraft would be available on Xbox One. At Gamescom 2013 it was Sony's turn, announcing that Minecraft will be available on PS4, PS3, and Vita. These versions are under development at 4J Studios under the supervision and direction of the original developer Mojang. As lead developer of Minecraft, Jens Bergensten offers suggestions and collaborates with the new Minecraft development team but updating and enhancing the PC version is still his primary workload. (Minecraft, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

The weird thing about Minecraft across all the systems is that for some strange reason, Microsoft versions are the "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" whereas on PS4 it's just "Minecraft" similar to that of PC versions...

I wonder what the difference is between the Xbox One version and PS4 version of Mincraft is?

Could anyone clarify?

I think Minecraft is the most successful indie ever. They got millions by spending a few hundred dollars :D.

This game made me wonder getting a 360 or One. This is actually a low profile system seller. Glad it will come to every available Sony console. By the way if I buy Minecraft for Ps4 can I download it for Ps3 and Vita ? Or I have to buy It individually ?

Thanks.

The real question is why no Minecraft on Kidtendo systems?

Minecraft will be a huge system seller for PS Vita, though.

I don't want to be evil but, If you have 2 versions of minecraft in Xbox One ("Minecraft Xbox One Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition") that have different features from one another Its just a strategy to get consumers to pay more. But I don't think so. Maybe the Minecraft Xbox One Edition its to remind people that the game is also avaiable on the Xone.

I think the Xbox One version will offer significantly larger maps, but I am not sure what else, if anything, will be different.

@TheAmericnDream

Larger maps ? Or more view distance ?

That was Microsofts way of saying "you'll have to buy this game again on Xbox One". It's an XBLA title so many wouldn't understand why the 360 version wouldn't run on XB1.

It's also when MS thought they had Minecraft all to themselves.

I think not like someone said above the ps4 version is probably going to be resembling more the pc version
