It was an Honor to interview the J Cole. I felt you guys would be happy to know that Shenmue for Sega Dreamcast was his favorite game. Also that he respects Gamers and the Gamer Culture.

I don't know who J Cole is an I was about to say I doubt he knows anything about gaming as rappers just love & are over the top with everything... But then I read his favourite game was Shenmue on the Dreamcast & I was like, WOW this guy knows his shit!!

...and with that, all is forgiven lol

Quick google search has reminded me who he is - "Power Trip" was probably his latest most popular tune.

J. Cole is one of the best rappers out there. Check out "Can't Get Enough," or really anything from his first album. He's good

No, I know who J Cole is, I just don't know who you are.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist)

@GreenRanger Told you LOL.

Also Cole is a pretty laid back guy. For those who brought up the fact that he's a celebrity, I don't get how that makes him any less of a Gamer? If you watch the interview he was very respectfully to the gaming community. Unlike other interviews with celebrities I've conducted in the past were it felt forced, Cole seemed genuine.

So now we need rappers to tell us what a real "gamer's game" is?

Marketing propaganda at its finest.
EdoubleD  +   390d ago
Games are for everyone anyway. It's cool that his favourite game is Shenmue, amazing game.
NYC_Gamer  +   390d ago
Shenmue will always be one of the greatest games ever made

Hip-Hip artist? Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't it Hip-Hip Hurray Artist?
CJDUNCAN  +   390d ago
Blacklist is just what we needed in this boring summer of games. Too bad some people play really silly in co-op though, running right at cameras and heavies only to restart the mission.

I guess it's a trend now for rappers to promote video games, first it was Eminem with call of doody and now cole.
Can't wait for the inevitable Nicki Minaj's promoted game /s

In an all new adventure, play as Nicki Minaj's 4 personalities and the whole YMCMB gang in this couch-gripping drama.

Coming to next gen consoles in Fall 2014, published by Activision.

Gotta respect that. It seems like he was a gamer as a youth, talked about running home to play Metal Gear and Shenmue. Then, he went to college and didn't really game much...aside from getting introduced to Splinter Cell. Now, he's on his music grind and just was presented the opportunity to have his music in the game. I can't knock that at all. He was trying to come off as some ultimate gamer, just a dude that respects the culture of those that are "true" gamers.
