CVG's Gamescom team is hitting the show floor hard to get hands-on with the next-gen titles available at the event; they managed to spend some time with Evolution Studios' DriveClub, tearing around the racetrack in an Aston Martin Vanquish.
This game is sooo sexy (talking mostly as a result of yesterday's trailer)! Graphics and lighting? Amazing. Can't wait for this.
i wonder how future racing games on PS4 will look like! i am dreaming of a WipEout PS4, that would be the best thing ever.
It would wipeout the competition.
Best looking F2P game of the year. Car models and lighting are ridiculous.
Very, very smooth. The lighting is looking pretty damn fine as well.
Real-time lighting! It looks fantastic.
Real-time lighting and clouds and dynamic weather! This game has best environment in all racing games and probably will be the best looking racing game in 2013/2014!
I hope the controls get improved before release. Is it just me or does this video make it look like there's no middle ground to steering? It either looks really twitchy 1 second & then really sluggish the next. They've got plenty of time to tweak it, I hope they do by the looks of this.
Its because he is using a controller, not a steering wheel, the imagine has to keep up with the quick movement of the analog sticks.
I'm on the fence about this (control issue comment) To me there are way to many factors to know how the steering reacts at this point. Just from the video I question the players experience, Was he using to much gas? To much brake? Not enough of either? Who knows. Plus, every experience I've ever had with a racing game is that it takes practice with each car and track. Something I think plenty of people will get, b/c this games looks to be one people (myself included) will play over and over again for awhile. edit:spelling/clarify point
Evolution usually nails the driving mechanics so i'm gonna say it was the player.
Looking forward to it either way, online racing done the way it always should of been done. Looks like a genuine online racer. Was always planning on buying it anyway but the fact I can try it out first on PS+ is a bonus!
Agreed 1insomniac. It seems to me like a great combination of social features and online competitions that will increase the playability for me and many. One of the biggest things for me as well is the free PS+ version to really get a feel of the depth. Much more than a typical demo usually brings to the table.
I like the street level view best... When he drove off road, the weeds on the side of the road were the most realistic plants I've ever seen in a racing games. I know it's just weeds, but if there is that much attention to detail on weeds, the rest of the game will be impressive.
Would like to see a direct feed HD video of actual gameplay. Regardless, i will be getting this from the PSN on day 1.
I don't think they want to direct feed until they can show it at 60FPS. From my understanding all of the footage we are seeing is still alpha and at 30FPS. Scary to think of what it will look like at FPS!
Dont forget its alpha code so alot will change for the final release. It looks good so far.
Yeah alpha is ALOT about optimizations if i'm not mistaken.
Anyone interested in starting club now? Let's friend up now so we can start becoming the most famed club on day 1!
Count me in dude.
I don't know what fanboys are seeing but this game looks pretty ugly for a next-gen game, and it's even worse when you compare it to Forza 5.
haha, you total fanboy. Indecently, i think the same about Ryse. Look mommy, I can be a fanboy too!!
I was slightly worried at e3 bit the improvements they have made in 2 months is phenomenal. What can they achieve with 2 more months? mind=blown.
Even off-screen on a 720p feed it looks beautiful.
