Can a motion-driven fighting game actually work? Ubisoft is hoping it can with their Xbox One exclusive THE FIGHTER WITHIN. Adam Sessler got a chance to visiit Ubisoft's offices recently to learn more about the title and try it out for himself.
So this game doesn't look nearly as bad as the Sony fanboys made it sound
The graphics look good, its the lag that is bad. http://abload.de/img/fighte...
I really want to jump on board with the Kinect system, but the lag would really bother me. I think it will take another generation before this really becomes what we have wanted, unless Microsoft can swap resources to Kinect to decrease latency. It is certainly less laggy than the X360's Kinect system, but it still has a bit of a way to go judging from that video I just watched. I need to play Kinect in a store this holiday to get a feel for just how much the lag impedes the gameplay. It seems other developers are making due so hopefully it won't be an issue for most people.
But that 1:1 tracking! https://www.youtube.com/wat...
With the reduced lag in the new Kinect, this might actually be playable by Kinect users. (i.e. not me) Just don't play it with a rooster. http://loldamn.com/wp-conte...
@Truth Wait, your listening to Sony fanboys?
Lol No I just read the bias remarks and knew it wouldn't be the worst game like they were implying
Looks pretty interesting. Will give it a gamefly rental
if it doesnt work thats the end of kinect *farts*
So kicks are automated and not actually yours because some people playing aren't physically active. I accept that but what about those of us that CAN kick somebody our height in the face? Some of us are active enough in Martial Arts. No option to turn off the auto kicks? That makes me lose interest. I love my footwork in a fight.
I don't know if the game will be good or not, but I bet you'll be sore as hell after playing it.
Or you can go to your local boxing ring and get a real 1 to 1 precision experience.
If you're going to use that example, why play videogames at all? Why bother playing Battlefield when you can just go down to your local recruiting office and sign up for the military for real?
I'll concede to not playing games at all if you tell me where I can cast fireballs and fight dragons. Otherwise your argument is flawed. Also there's no risk of getting shot in a boxing match.
You should be able to do your own poses & kicks. so far it doesnt look like you can do that. its canned animations. It blows. I'd rather play tekken or virtua fighter. it has more moves.i wanna use my stlye god damn it.
Graphics look good, gameplay still has lag though? I wonder how combos will work. Did anyone else notice? Kratos: http://cdn.destructoid.com/... Nariko: http://cdn.destructoid.com/...
genuinely hope they manage to fix this for its release, doesn't put the whole 'kinect will revolutionise gaming' in a good light, kinda says to me that the kinect should just stick to cool OS functions or at least character mapping etc for those sports games. Will keep a track on this to see how it develops.
looks MEH to me
